she said it during Anne’s radio interview when title track was released!! But she’s been hinting at 2 albums since November, so it’s very possible what Lana meant was, during the writing process for Chemtrails she didn’t have her next 4 songs planned

I hope we get angry FMWUTTT, MPG moments on RCS. Something dark and a complete mockery of what they say about her I’m also LOVING LOVING LOVING the titty/truck pic being RCS related because that gives off MAJOR baddie vibes that aren’t present on Chemtrails. but I do think it was scrapped, early album footage that she didn’t feel right to put out since she was already over the era by the time those visuals could be used..but I’m so hoping I’m wrong!

Chemtrails has had decent promo and title track is as most a ‘real single‘ as any other song put out before an album (WC, HBTB, Love, Norman was a little messy but FIILY/TG) but I agree the announcement was completely spontaneous announcement which is so weird after her ‘finishing my poetry ttyl’ post

I completely agree!! The album and the fact that they’ve planned it feels completely real to me, it’s just the date that doesn’t I think it’ll come in or close to June but I can’t see them releasing a whole album mid week, she’s always done that with singles but albums have always been on a Friday

It’s very possible but I think she’s going to drop at least one or two songs..otherwise there’s no point announcing it this early. But we also said the same thing during COTCC by the time mid August came and didn’t get our first ‘buzz single’ until October so It can truly go either way, but I don’t see her ‘surprise’ dropping

I know If the June 1st date is ‘official’ things almost have to start happening by mid April. Unless she’s changing her whole rollout process..she’s always had a couple songs out before the album drops and almost always one song out by at least the month and a half mark (and usually long than that)

I hope it gets honeymoon’s rollout ‘Lead’ single about a month and a half before the album, tracklist and another song with preorder a little less than a month before the album, and then another song a little over a week before the album

I knew the fonts were made by the same person that author is probably so pissed she was hired by Lana to do typography and keeps getting her work displayed on selfies I knew it was going to be an album, and it was pretty clear it was premeditated (I pointed out before that the font had too much thought into it to be spur of the moment) I’m not hyped for June 1st though. I definitely think it’ll be coming rather soon (like definitly this year) but after the Chemtrail rollout, I’m not getting any kind of exited until a date is set-in-stone, there’s a single, and I’ve preordered the album

I just have a feeling we would have heard something by now if a batch of songs were mastered and/or submitted for vinyl pressing when she announced AS&C on the live, she mentioned it being only a digital album so I guess it’s possible RCS might start out/stay a digital album, but I can’t see the label going ahead with that because a lot of her sales are the multiple variants she has

I’ve never fully made the connection I always thought of it as more as a transition into who she is now.. The first 4 albums (and unreleased songs) are all about summer “hot summer night” “mid July” “keeping it hot, like July forever” to VB venturing more into “the summer fades away” which I can now totally connect with her youth.

I think COTCC’s length REALLY helped keep it together and cohesive, and while I love long albums (like LFL) I think the smaller a track list is the more cohesive it can be. Paradise (despite being an EP), UV (standard), and Chemtrails feels the most like a solid body of work (HM is also cohesive but I would argue maybe not as much as the others.) so while it would be nice to get a 14+ song album, I wouldn’t want anything that would water down or overfill the overall vision.

@Lentilus that was beautiful I never made the connection between Summer and youth. And how that overall theme connects in Yosemite.

So by that logic Pre-release-ing this thread makes sense since we have both the name and release date like we did for Chemtrails usually her announcement of a follow-up (MTWBT after UV, NFR after LFL) don’t come with a release date and okay awesome, thank you so much! I remember you mentioning the Chemtrail theme and I’m super excited for it!

When did Chemtrails enter the pre-release phase, do you remember? I feel like June 1st is still super up in the air and we shouldn’t enter a new pre-release phase until we have more confirmation (a single, preorder, or word from Ben/Ed) about the album..going off Chemtrails, we had at least 4 release date title changes until it became ‘official’ (there was sep 5th, the period where we had no idea, Dec 10/Jan 7th, tentatively spring/summer, and then finally the official March 19th date) but that’s just my opinion! edit: also any idea when the chemtrail theme Will be uploaded?

I really can’t believe she dropped her best album only 4 days ago I feel like it’s been a huge part of my life for so long, it feels so timeless As excited as I am for RCS I really have a hard time believe she’ll be able to top this album

I think it’s pretty good! Since she put it in the album trailer I definitely see it getting it’s own video!!!

the chorus’ instrumental is straight out of HTD (the instrumental break around the end of the song) and the melody in some parts is very close to Hope!

I got half way through when I released I mistook For Free with Get Free so I’ll edit when I have more accurate results editing to say, I need way more time and a clearer head, after round like 300 I got a little burnt out and my results don’t really seem to align with what I would think even my top 10 is

I truly don’t get the “no more piano album, we already have two of them” comments I’m the biggest NFR hater and even I agree that COTCC is the furthest thing from a piano heavy album, and it certainly doesn’t remind me of NFR (minus WAH which blends three NFR songs perfectly) I’m really hoping RCS continues her exploration in the sounds she was trying in DBJAG, TJF, DTWD (bridge especially), and BUS

I said probably 50 pages ago or so, but I’m completely ready for June 1st meltdowns (though I said it’s gonna be about May 25th when there’s no lead, preorder, or anything and team Delulu is gonna go insane making reasons and timelines for why it’s coming out )

I’m glad she’s giving us stuff to have meltdowns about, she’s so sweet she knew only giving us 70 some days until the album comes out doesn't give us much time to have a lot of meltdowns so she’s delivering
