hopefully we’ll learn from past mistakes and if nothing happens by May 1st, the forum won’t enter the restless annoyance we were in last August I can fully see her not mentioning the album again until a good ways away. I mean...she announced Chemtrails in May and then June-September was allll Violet and she didn’t mention the new album once until October when LMLYLAW came out (not counting interview magazine, she probably wishes she hadn’t done that since the interview was a ‘I don’t know where the album is going’ interview with an ‘album out this month’ release date)

I think my biggest problem with Norman is how long it took for it to come out. UV/HM had perfect (to me) rollouts, LFL had a slight hiccup, nothing dramatic.. even COTCC’s 6 month delay wasn’t all that bad but almost a whole year between first single and album REALLY was overkill. Not to mention HIAB had been teased since the beginning of 2018, and LFL was already over a year old by the time MAC came out I really think the rollout left a huge bad aftertaste in my mouth that really affected how I perceived NFR, even to this day. There are SO many good ‘dual’ tracks on the album (MAC/VB, FIILY/TG, CG/HTD) but as a whole, the album is a mess that had no right taking as long as it did to come out. Plz don’t come for me, this is the unpopular opinion thread

I really think she purposely watched what she said during Anne’s interview, and what she said shouldn’t be taken at face value. She said in November she was working on two albums so obviously she had a handful of songs she loved for two albums, and she probably didn’t want to talk about it in her interview with Anne because she was there to talk about her first big single and new album, which was still over a month away. Ive always said, I think when she was taking about not having the 4 songs she loved, she meant during the creating of Chemtrails. She never saw Chemtrails as a finished album and waited months to submit it, incase she could ‘finish’ it. Of course she wasn’t going to have 4 next songs, she didn’t even feel like Chemtrails was finished yet she started recording with Zach at the absolute earliest in November, because she posted that video of her singing the hymn Joe Biden quoted, and her post said ‘taking a break from recording’. In that same time frame she tweeted a rock, and that she was working on two albums. My only fear is this is another May 2020 scenario where she feels almost finished enough to announce RCS, but she might not actually be finished yet and might hit a road block that’s going to effect when it comes out. plus I still think the label is going to be hesitant to release a new album so soon after her latest album pulled awesome numbers

I was gonna say this too but I wanted to find @Clampigirl’s Chemtrail timeline to see when Lana first mentioned White Hot Forever. Lana and Sean were dating by the end of 2019 (Assuming they talked for a month or two before making it ‘official’) it could have been one of the first songs she wrote when she was with him and happy

She most definitely did! I remember a magazine early 2020 had an interview with an 'anon source/friend' where they said Lana had written a whole album of sad, break-up songs, all of which is very doubtful to have made it onto Chemtrails..(none of the songs on COTCC scream we just broke up) I always figured if Lana is gonna feature her breakup on RCS it's gonna start with the break-up, have a climax during her 'QFTC' songs, and end on a sweeter note about being happy with Clay Here's to hoping if anything happened between Lana and Clay, it doesn't throw her off for RCS

I personally think it’s very very likely RCS is going to be delayed her and her team were probably not thinking COTCC was going to do as well as it did, in every interview Lana did she said how nervous she was for the album to come out i think they’re going to wait at least six months for another album so everyone has time to digest Chemtrails and save up money for her next project. People said Chemtrails would do terrible because of the delay and obviously that wasn’t the case. I think the poetry book will come sometime in summer or fall, and RCS will be out in 2022

I definitely think physicals will be planned! With the cover album she called it ‘digital’ but I can’t see an album album being digital only I have a very hard time believing the date she gave, but the fact they paid for the font to be made highly suggests it was pretty well planned it’s the first time she’s ever given us a date as well as proof that it’s planned (like when she announced chemtrails for sep 5th it was obvious there was no real planned out thought behind it!) I think we’ll get first single and preorder again like we did with chemtrails but honestly who knows

the shortest duration we’ve ever had between a single and album is a month and a half (HBTB to HM) and even then she had teased the lyrics to honeymoon for months on Instagram (and she gave out the lyrics during her tour) So...Realistically, If the album is coming June 1st we should have a single no later than mid April but I’m wondering if Chemtrail’s success is going to make them wait to try and push RCS harder. They aren’t going to want her to rank in the highest vinyl sales with one album and then super low her next. Communication has never been Lana/tap’s main concern so we’ll know when we know (as shitty as that is)
