  1. Feels like NTMT filler, seriously.

I did actually joke with my friend about her adding Maoam to M6 I really wonder what she has in store...

    Björk

There's no such a thing as flawfree album. Some people may love it from start to finish, some may not even like a single track on it. I just imagined a dimension where these two's strongest tracks are combined into one, that's it; ESPECIALLY because in my opinion they share a lot both sonically and aesthestically, and I've already seen many people say Unravel fits Vespertine. I did not mean that some tracks are actually "bad".

    Björk

Some tracks on both are weaker to me simply.

It's so boring oh God. Surely it is a grower, but rather meh. Even I Never Learn had some commercial-potential bops like Gunshot. Why not include BRON?

    Björk

Dunno if this is a popular opinion or not, but if she merged the projects of Homogenic and Vespertine, it would probably be my favourite album ever.

    MARINA (and The Diamonds)

Why would she join Bandcamp? She's got enough money basically to buy her own label and even promote other artists there. It's not that big of a deal. I'm just scared to see the outcome of that, whether her projects will be more or less professional. She's always been "the laziest ambitious person" and stuff.

I don't get it how they constantly have so few items in her stock and can't make more

Songs about her father still make sense to the concept. It is Electra complex after all.

the music video version is much nicer, these dubstep beats are very cheap. to me, this and lies are the songs that aged too much

    MARINA (and The Diamonds)

Agreed. My point was that it got critical acclaim, with what you said now -- even despite little concept to it. But it's not only about it; Charli did change her sound to appeal general public, and people hated Marina for doing the same thing a decade earlier.

It would be nice to finally get a thorough album review that would do justice to our beloved Electra Heart. I kinda feel like everyone misses the whole social commentary, the cultural inspirations, and the Greek mythology references. Everyone seems to focus merely on its impact on teenage girls and Tumblr now (still better than the 2012 omg-she-changed-her-sound-and-it's-atrocious rhethoric), while the amount of thought taken to developing this concept album is insane. This record does already feel like reading a book and I still cannot comprehend why Marina's so reluctant to prove her point; I know she was devastated after commercial failure and critics' flashback, but she should've seen them coming. The Metacritic score is a crime on humanity and proves that patriarchic society we live in was not ready for that and seems not to be to this very day. I have no words for the people who praised Charli XCX's Crash but hated Marina for her sellout persona invented a decade earlier. Hypocrates.

yes, and then she wanted to release a full package of all electra heart songs and she had an opportunity for that today and did not, let alone heartcore reading anything from her would be interesting, though. her marinabook was not my cup of tea but I can feel her writing something for the wider audience when she's older for sure.

ik : ( a delusional girl can dream right....... but EH is the only album of hers that's perhaps gonna get an anniversary edition so it is our last chance tbh

if she were not to release those unreleased tracks she could've at least added all acoustics and some interludes from lonely hearts club tour. p&c interlude is hella good

the cover is a mess, the title is a mess, the tracklist -- we'll see lol RIP are they not allowed to use Balslev's photoshoot or what...

I kinda think that Believe in Love shoulda been made a single, right after Handmade Heaven. It would've made a nice introduction to the love-fear concept she tried to present and I think that the whole message added with those beautiful instrumentals had some commercial potential. Right after that Superstar -- then it would make more sense and perhaps would be better received by the fans. By the way, as we're heading towards the 10th anniversary of Electra Heart, the one and only album of the decade, Marina gave an interview, together with, amongs others, Rick Nowels: https://www.nylon.com/entertainment/oral-history-marina-the-diamonds-electra-heart-10-anniversary

unless her money-thirsty label does it anyway
  21. Blue Banisters was a weird album that I do not find the need to revisit at all. Since Jack did not put his hands on it, and I do really enjoy the first three tracks of COCC, I might as well be in love with this new record or despise it the way I do the critics-and-general-public-hello-i'm-calling-you-please-like-me-NFR. The point is, I happen to hate his guitar, and he did even incorporate it in King by Florence + the Machine, damnit... So well, we'll see. A hit or miss.

    Charli XCX

Primadonna Selfish Girl is better than most of the album lol. The standard version would've benefited from it a lot.

    Charli XCX

I did not mean direct comparison to their sound, just that this vibe could've been used in their discography -- that's simply what happens when you pull out a commercial album and decide not to incorporate any deeper elements to it (speaking of Perry -- she proved she is able, occassionally, to create something like Chained to the Rhythm). Move Me is too electronic for Lust for Life. Handled differently, yet with similar melody, perhaps could have been there, indeed. Charli is proving to me that she is one of those very artists that have strong, devoted fanbases and are fond of mostly because of their easygoing, good nature and magnetic attitude, not necessarily deep or profound artistry. As I said, the record is enjoyable, but the way it is given 8.0 by Pitchfork is absolutely insane to me. Not to diss Charli of course, but no record of Lana's -- we're on Lanaboards, after all -- except for NFR! got such a good score, no matter how she tried.

    Charli XCX

At the moment I can say that it is an enjoyable commercial pop record, but rather far from her goth electropop known from the first album, let alone her colleagues' pop aims (Born to Die, Electra Heart and the like). Don't know why she kept comparing it to True Romance. It feels at times like something Ariana Grande or Katy Perry could've released, apart from those revisits to sounds from earlier decades, but isn't it a trend these days, hasn't Dua Lipa done the same? I've no idea what for this soulless sellout persona was even created to begin with, 'cause there's no story in it at all, and an excuse to make this record was not needed too 'cause I don't feel there's much of a difference between this and what she has previously worked on, to be honest. Maybe something refreshing like disco tits or I Love It in the tracklist would have helped. All in all, it's an okay record with some catchy hits, though lyrically, well... but I'm happy seeing you enjoying it, just speaking from the perspective of someone who's admired every second of her first album, don't get me wrong, . highlights: good ones (instant love forever), new shapes (grower, and this angelic voice of Caroline's is to die for) also: baby and yuck (simply catchy), lightning (nice 80s vibes)
