So she called it her favorite song on her Twitter...I wonder if this means all the others pushed her in new, unexplored areas. If you put yourself in that Ajayll headspace, the song really does just make you sway and grin so I could maybe see the radio take this....like once

When ppl say her stuff all sounds the same, that statement makes me Matrix glitch like i-its the wrong opinion. I really wish she would livestream with us (oh the livestreams almost on) like come on, we miss you!

I watched Venice Bitch like, 40000 times. It was repetitive as hell and barely a video, but it worked so well for me. I mean this is basically her quarantine video right? What if it starts with a whole 3 minute meltdown until shes in the arms of someone again, since so many of us were isolated and lonely.

Ughhh this bridge with her Snow White falsetto. Listened now on my bose mini, those guitars can cause EXTREME reactions. I dont even know what to think the concept for the video will be, but if its her on top of a suburban in her driveway the whole time then...then hell yes we stan. LMLYLAW is growing so much, and I already liked it anyway.

If this is country than call me Old Mcdonald cus this is downright charming (he says as he twirls a single piece of hay in his mouth).

Let Me Love You Like a Woman (Single) - OUT NOW: October 16th, 2020
HighbytheSea replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
This song.........its the shy sister of Venice Bitch and MAC. Its less mournful but just as delicate. Those guitars are so woozy and the bridge is just, well the bridge with headphones on is just dreamy. I swear I hear faint bells during the middle half of the song. Soooooo. I love it. I LOVE IT. I think the only reason its a "grower" is cus the chorus doesn't smack you in the face like some of her songs do. This is such a headphone/car ride song. YAY!!!! (Also it does end so so abruptly....this bitch is #1 on the record isn't she)- 359 replies

I believe it begins at 1544 if you want to have a very painful laugh. Essentially there was hope she'd be doing a live lounge performance, but its just a rerun. Our pain is the source of such comedy. Heres to October 2nd goddammit haha Edit!! It has its own topic now but oh, the humor. But for real I think October 2nd may now be our baby. I mean we should have known all along with the pumpkin patches in the video

YALL!! holy crap im sorry I am cackling. Sooo blessed I was not actively associated with the tragedy that just occurred. I broke out in a sweat at first, the posts were so dire I thought someone uttered 2021 and was ready to walk out the window. We stay losing but good lord are you all hilarious about it.

Lolol that is.....not how one drives but HONESTLY, i think somethings coming. I had a feeling this morning and I thought football Sunday would make her act up one way or another. Her hair is so beautiful, bring on the substance Queen!

Wooooohhh!!! Ok just watched the video. Fuckin icon she is, I mean just stupendous. Her presence, her manipulation, performance as life and vice versa. Loved the piano too; the very end, the question of madness, exceptional. But like, i...no i need to hold fast, this shit is coming in September. Me, crazy? No, no of course not, I mean look we're on lanaboards for the 197th day straight, thats not, crazy. No I'm normal. (LORD does she enjoy reminding us why we stan)

@takeitdoen beautiful write up! Salamander is fantastic as it starts so dramatic, the warbling lo-fi voice a drastic left from her soothing words in previous poems, but its absolutely tongue-in-cheek yet somehow slightly scathing in her take down of the critique of her own thoughts. The outro music has a sense of playful doom as she evokes the Greek Gods, like a plank walk between the windy ridges of the grand canyon. Her authenticity always shines in her winks, and in LA Who am I to Love You when she says "I'm quite good on the stage, you might have heard of me" its so charming you can hear her smile. Also agree with you on the replay value. I've listened probably 7 times now in full, which is the only way to listen properly. Its a full immersion into her head and heart and definitely isn't something I just put on for a song or two, but a full sit down is an exercise in soul searching which can be exhausting. Here's to an incredible follow up with Beyong the Iron Gates

So its become hard for me to listen to Sportcruiser. The entire first part in the studio apartment with yellow petals as their view. Terrible you, which was unfortunately me in my situation. Its alot to take in in a moment of introspection, one I don't want to make cus i know I sucked, and I honestly thank God it becomes a more specific tale to who she is and what her fears are. I adore Violet and its such a great listen and I usually refuse to skip tracks, yet Sportcruiser drains the happiness from me, even though i can never help but smile when she's so taken that no one on the dock cares who she is. Its the albums masterpiece, but if im just trying to vibe it seems it may have to become a skip. The most affecting piece she has ever written and it turns out I literally wasn't prepared for it.

Well, I'm really not a fan of bullying at all so that's discouraging to see. The way I saw it, especially before it dropped, I figured this was going to be for the fans and more casual listeners were not gonna vibe. I mean, so many people even listen to poetry in the first place, speaking in a modern mainstream view. So I just figured the vitriol wouldn't be so bad, maybe I was just prepared for negativity. Now that its out, the craft behind it i think does deserve a wider view which in nature will bring out more casual listeners and reviewers. Yes i think that reviewer has this totally wrong, but maybe other more major publications will take a look at this as well. My thoughts haha,I dont have much planned today.

Huh. I feel like the reviewer sort of missed the point of Violet. First calling all her music the same, so this should be as well, but then stating that it ruins the "camp" of Lana, citing lines from Salamander. I think Salamander is one of the most bombastic, and yet because of its theatrical aching, it reveals who Lana may actually be. Isn't this why we love her? An artist who 100% believes in her convictions and statements and way of life, even if they sound bleeding heart, or "camp". Also their statement that LA is the best poem is just a No. Its an incredible opener but to dismiss everything after it is just lazy writing. One thing I loved about this project before it released was Lana's plaintive nature about it. "Theyre not trying to be anything more than what they are, and im especially proud because the nature in which they were written was very authentic" This was Lanas way of saying they are what they are, and sort or sucking the wind out of any accusation of pretentiousness. If you don't like them, shes fine with it. Lastly, yes NFR was gold because it took Lanas stories and set them to an America on fire. Violet is not that project, and it wasn't supposed to come out in the heat of the country falling to pieces. So for the reviewer to suggest she's a newb poet for focusing on herself? Please. Shes a mysterious legend already and her fans got some serious peeks behind the curtain here and we love her for it. Woof, rant over.

Ok ummm Salamander's instrumentals are a lot heavier on the NFR vibe then I thought and even though its a dark vibe, it sounds like something that would play right after it F*ck it i Love You. Its such a bleeding heart poem and so her. A scene as cliche as a car winding down a summer road is still fresh in her words. Damn Salamander is an undercover babe.

Second listen through: Bare feet on Linoleum feels like such a dark harbinger. It gave off such sinister vibes and it would almost feel not of the same project if Paradise is Fragile didnt act as a solid transition into that kind of modern paranoia. Shes cutting those veggies with a butcher knife. And Sportcruiser-that shit just isn't fair. It is way too close to the heart in its first lines, becomes a deeply personal and beautiful tale of our Lana, and then crushes you again at the end. It is not fair and the showpiece of it all to me. Land of 1000 fires, what a BABE. Excellent. Salamander has actually changed for me and now I feel I need to sit with it. The picture it paints is darker than I felt in my initial listen and now my emotions are conflicted. This POET!
