SoaG - Secrets of a Girl oh nvm I remembered it incorrectly ?
  2. I think the pandemic messed up Lana’s seasonal connections to the music. COCC really should have come out in September. Sounded like an autumn album to me. Blue Banisters is not a summer album at all
  3. Lana usually announces and posts things around Saturday afternoon
  4. I don’t understand what this means. Is Jack saying that he shouldn’t give Lana demo-level music ideas because she might like it and take it & run?
  5. Interscope wouldn’t let her fail like that calm down
  6. 1. Ive def had a feeling recently that Lana was gonna scrap something. I thought she would scrap the singles and leave them as the tiniest EP. 2. I’m surprised that she’s changed stuff. She must be so busy with Chuck almost due, and I’m sure Lana becoming an aunt will be a huge source of inspiration for her (ha Ray of Light) 3. I also remember writing here that Lana should wait until after new Jack Antonoff stuff to come out so she can witness the recycling ?
  7. If you were an insider and heard Blue Banisters (the song) ahead of time, how would you describe it to others? Like what existing Lana song is most similar to it BoZ said Yosemite & I Don’t Wanna Go. Maybe rhythmically similar in Yosemite but not sonically I feel

ATRL finally opened up again. Eclipse says that one of the final lines of the album is found in her email. Other users there think it's "The one that lingers on your skin like a tan as the months get cooler again." (I agree, it's the only nice couplet in the email) And Reddit says the music video was filmed March 20!

I think Jack has a very easygoing, friendly personality compared to all the other producers which is why they always come back to him and even join him on his Bleachers albums. I hear Malay will only be on a few tracks. The majority is Jack produced. get ready for that Jack sophomore slump
  10. There’s a video of her inside Craig’s on Jen’s stories
  11. Wait, are we certain that b&w background is the album cover?

Mike Dean was supposed to work on the new Lorde album Def think the psychedelia would’ve fit better

Every time Lorde emerges, she carries the New Zealand tourism industry with her

I think Jack used the same vocal/microphone effects as the ones in Daddy’s Home (esp in Melting of the Sun) I can’t tell where Phoebe or Clairo’s background vocals are
  15. The way that Lana was labeled as an industry plant is unheard of nowadays. She went through the ringer over that, and now it’s uncouth to give that level of skepticism to any female breakout pop star. Some stans just want Lana’s BTD era to get the recognition and apologies it deserves. Maybe it’s misplaced onto other artists.

It’s always nice to hear Lorde so yes But in terms of artistic growth, it doesn’t sound like 4 years worth, like the way PH -> Melodrama was for me. We still have to hear the whole album. The thing that bothers me about this song is how relatively weak the lyrics are.
  17. Chemtrails is a triumph because it forced Jack to get outside of his box. Lorde’s new single is typical Jack, and the way the alt-pop girls are just circling each other, sharing producers and aesthetics… At least Chemtrails stands on its own

Phoebe Bridgers is the surprise background vocalist??

Eh…it’s very Daddy’s Home but more pop. Can’t believe she mentioned her “boy”
  20. I’ve come to appreciate Lana’s unpolished artistry. I’ve been super stressed and depressed about work lately and nothing about the typical glossy pop traditions (album art, promo cycles, press appearances in the media) is appealing to me. Sure musicians can sing about what I’m going through but why dress it up behind unified/polished aesthetics?
  21. It’s sort of ? for me that Mike Dean said that the drum effect was something he took a lot of time to get right. Like somehow Love Drought came more easily to him WW is such a bitter song for me. When I’m at my lowest I groove with it
  22. doin’ time mv teas (lana is pretty tall…5’10” ish)
