She’s back to sing-talking verses

The thing that bothers me about the background vocals is that Taylor towards the end of the song uses a similar reverb to sing background vocals herself so it muddles Lana’s feature even more. Also Lana could’ve not been on it and it would’ve been almost the same song

The song is kinda mid mostly because it’s a straightforward pop song structurally. It reminds me of mirrorball instrumentally and You Are In Love for some reason

I wonder when they recorded this because the reverb and the register doesn’t feel like recent Lana to me

If Spotify let you have speed controls over the music like YouTube does or their podcasts do, this silliness wouldn’t have to exist

I love Chemtrails, and Tulsa Jesus Freak ranks relatively low for me. I've come to value this album as a story of dealing with burnout--the desire to run away and start over, to do your profession out of the love of it. Blue Banisters flopped for me. It was pretty but it was just a collection of songs, and it's unfortunate that it was her latest release because I haven't been revisiting her work as much as a result, and I'm scared for what her next release might bring.

Some thoughts not covered in the thread yet - Adam Driver and Lady Gaga don’t have much chemistry.
