Lana at Mel's Drive-In in West Hollywood, CA - June 6th, 2021

The fan is serving classic Lana aesthetic esp with those super cute cherry earrings At least Lana is always nice to fans irl. That’s what been keeping her afloat… -
This song has the same riff as the opening of “And I Love Her” by the Beatles. Does anybody else hear it too?

Michelle Zauner/Japanese Breakfast includes a line about Lana in her memoir, Crying in H Mart. In summary, her friend Duncan was working a cover story on Lana for the Fader during the UV era. Duncan tells Japanese Breakfast that Lana was recording the entire interview on her iPhone and was chain smoking like crazy, and JB admired that. I found it interesting that it's included in this memoir since its focus is about her mother dying and her Asian-American identity. The aspects of her music career in this memoir are very much secondary. Tonight, I happened to run into an NPR article where Lana said she hated that interviewer for goading her.

She should let the cover art choices speak for themselves too, just to gain any kind of positive opinion, but it’s just clownery. -
BoZ and Eclipse are split on Mood Ring. I think it’s because the vocals in Mood Ring are like Writer in the Dark/White Dress which BoZ doesn’t personally like. Also confirmed that Solar Power sounds like Freedom by George Michael but fwiw BoZ isn’t very good at describing Lana songs
-
My predictions: Solar Power lyrics: “Pretty and hot in the winter/ I need my solar power” ATRL says there’s a song titled SATNS. My guess is “Smoking at/away the Night Stars” since Eclipse was hinting at some pothead stuff

Will Lana address her feelings about the Grammys in BB? That loss probably hurt her a lot because 1) the person who won was somebody who idolized her 2) she got her hopes up about being accepted in the music industry & having an easier time navigating the public eye only to be crushed again. But maybe it freed her to do this kind of poetry-music. -

Kind of an that it doesn’t seem like Rick Nowels will be back in this album Also he basically stopped updating his instagram right after Chemtrails came out -
for better for worse, Lana is always releasing music and has a big back catalogue. She’ll always be there I fear Lorde’s comeback will lead me to Lorde > Lana in my stan rankings sometimes but they each have their strengths and weaknesses depending on where I am in my life lol

Lana’s eyes in Text Book single cover is almost nightmare material -
That George Michael song matches the vibe I had in my head from Eclipse’s descriptions. It reminds me of when Lorde covered “Me & Julio Down By the Schoolyard”

An iconic song. Should be considered an all-time great/must-listen/masterpiece in the history books of pop music. The lyrics alone... The tragedy is that she never really did another song like this, and I’m surprised nobody else even tried to do their version of it. Everybody did either a Video Games or Born to Die influenced song. Guess that’s what makes it so legendary.

Why not? I think one aspect of fame Lana hasn’t touched upon is the power of her pen. Because she’s famous, she can share her writings and thoughts more easily but from BTD-UV, I don’t think she got the chance to express herself without the press hounding her -

Another album shaping up to be more commercially unfriendly + months long vinyl delays (based on the other artists) I think it’s gonna be delayed for a while. No way would Lana’s team accept a BB200 opening week below the top 5. -

aw she looks well inb4 people ask about why she hasn’t posted anything yet -
Lorde will come when she comes I get more anguish when she leaves for an indefinite time because her albums are always such intense time capsules and I eventually grow out of them.

This album cycle promo is going to be just as un-commercial as COCC. -
Lana still follows Ariana fan accounts though

- Lana puts on a really good live show. There's something about the Youtube videos that never quite captures the magic. With that said, I thought NFR! was a great tour, especially because she went to places she hadn't gone. - Coachella is an amazing song. Lana's melody arrangements in it are unique for her catalog (stairwaaaay, stairwaaay to heaaaaveeen) - Rick's only mistake on LFL was vocal mixing/microphone choice. The tracklist was bloated, but it's pretty clear that Lana makes those decisions.

Her hair looks so different I thought it wasn’t recent but the tommyrush tag confirms it’s new music I hope -

I don’t see a bar named Old Man River in LA, just Old Man Bar.
