A bit off topic but… I love Miley but ESV is so bad. I gave it another chance last night and I had to stop by track 10. Imagine if it wins AOTY 😭 -
Some great country artworks

Beck didn't perform in 2015 but still won AOTY. Mark Ronson and Ed Sheeran didn't perform in 2016 and won ROTY and SOTY respectively. Again, Ed Sheeran didn't perform in 2018 and won SOTY. Same with Childish Gambino, H.E.R. and others that still won "big four" categories without performing. There's still hope. -
I personally don't want the visuals to be all daylight in the desert, because she's already done that. I hope they find a way to make it different and not as "simple" as wearing a cowboy hat in the middle of nowhere.

I came across a lot of Swifties on Twitter saying "it's not something to celebrate" bc Lana worked with Kim... (+ Zionist, racist allegations again) -

Three days!! -
Damn there’s so much disappointment in this thread… you guys better not abandon Lana just because she’s “going country”. It will be amazing, funny and romantic; it will have class to it and, the best thing about this, it will be in Lana style.

Hmm, it would lack the depth and diversity Rick and Kieron brought to the album... imo

I want to take this moment to say that Blue Jeans is still so breathtaking to me. It's one of Lana's best songs ever and it will remain that way forever. I don't know what possessed her to come up with such incredible and timeless melodies; every word fits perfectly and her delivery is so cathartic. I have always loved the guitar plucking, the fast trip hop beat and the tragic strings. And again, her vocal delivery is insane. If I had to choose one song from this era that still sounds like the first time, it's Blue Jeans. -

It's actually quite simple. Think of song as the core of the work in question; lyrics, melody, chord progression. Then the materialization of it is the recording; production, vocals, mixing, etc. :) -
this is true, I personally love Reddit lol but music-related subreddits are usually full of people with no taste

I was analysing previous winners for the Alternative categories and I concluded that they give the award to the most acclaimed song/album... Last year, Best Alternative Music Album was given to Wet Leg, who were competing with Bjork, Arcade Fire, Japanese Breakfast and Halsey (). They also won Best Alternatvie Music Performance, a brand new category, against Arctic Monkeys, Big Thief, Florence and the Machine and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Big Thief deserved though). In previous years, Best Alternative Music Album was given to St Vincent, Fiona Apple, Vampire Weekend, The National, David Bowie, Alabama Shakes... so it's safe to assume they care a lot about "professional" critical success for this one. All these artists had the most acclaimed album compared to the rest of the nominees. A&W will definitely win Alt Performance. This year, Lana is against Boygenius, Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz and PJ Harvey. It'll be tough, as both Ocean Blvd and The Record are the most acclaimed albums of the year; Ocean having more of a retrospective success and is currently enjoying a monumental moment. Best Pop Duo/Group Performance is an instant loss, as they always give it to the biggest collab of the year, as simple as that; Unholy, Kiss Me More, Rain On Me, Old Town Road, Shallow, Uptown Funk... They chose more alternative songs previously, like Feel It Still by Portugal the Man or Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots, but those were still enormous global hits. Candy Necklace, one of the least "commercial" songs from Ocean Blvd, has no chance, although it would be absolutely epic if it wins. This one will probably go to Taylor Swift and Ice Spice
