FINALLY i can't wait

pretty when you cry vs. wild heart

ok but dawn of chromatic is SO good i love chromatica and this is really like a flipped coin version, a perfect combo of fucking w the songs and maintaining their cores. 1000 doves is my least fav on chromatica but dawn version is my fav songs on DOC.
-
might be my least fav song on the album BUT this album is perfect top to bottom and i would die for it, her opus imo

Blue Banisters - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
rightofjupiter replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
what songs have grown on you most since release? weirdly living legend is hitting for me in a way it never did as an unreleased, even though i was listening to the exact same version– i think it's placement in the album really makes it shine. i was also enjoying the arcadia chorus a lot the other day, though maintain that the verses are bleh. -
shades of cool vs. living legend

you're absolutely right that the way she said it implied we should expect something later this year, but with her track record this may mean nothing...that said, it would be such a nice surprise!
-
love the hook/chorus of new shapes but the verses are super disappointing melodically, imo. that said the snippets she shared of other album songs have me thinking this album WILL be superb.
-
i have tried again and again but she just never hits for me; i enjoy the radio singles when i hear them but can never get into the albums
-
wish i were a swiftie bc these re-releases seem like so much fun!

i was JUST watching a live video of carmen from 2012 and thinking about how good it is. along with dark paradise it's the only song i listen to from BTD– in addition to all the things you noted, i also think we can hear so much of the artist lana would become in this particular song vs. the rest of the BTD (shades of honeymoon and the jazzier elements of UV)..

i have to say i love how much of the later posts in the thread are positive re-evaluations of this album. i'm def a COCC fangirl, and while i love BB, COCC has had a much bigger emotional, thoughtful impact on me (at least as of now). i agree with many others who've noted that COCC will, like HM, prob gain appreciation over time and so many of these updates prove it's so. NFR was an impossible album to follow up and she really went her own way and made the record she wanted/needed to make instead of treading water.

IDK if i'll be able to queue but would love to meet up at the show
