Yeah like I'm debating whether that's a COCC demo or an unreleased track... I honestly think I might put it in unreleased just because they're so vastly different from one another?? for my own personal brain's sake lmao

Here's usually how I sort her music: In terms of Unreleased, I do it by volumes by year. So, Vol. 1 is 2005-2009, Vol. 2 is 2010, Vol. 3 is 2011-2012, and Vol. 4 is 2013 to present, basically. Then I have her iconic albums like Young Like Me (why does no one talk about this hello???), Sirens, and AKA. The "LIVE" album is truly a mess. That needs to be fixed. Lmao Lana Del Rey: Studio Demos is exactly what it sounds like, but I ended up dividing that into 8 albums as well (haven't put them on my Spotify yet). LDR: The Alternates are unreleased Demos. Lana Del Rey: The Unreleased Collection is 167 songs and it has like everything- I don't think this is necessary for me to keep since I have everything else already split up. I have OCD (truly diagnosed ), so this was very cathartic for me to develop over the years. Edit: I haven't updated this in months, so Dragonslayer, Pink Champagne, California, Summertime, etc. need to be uploaded. XOXOXO

This. is. gorgeous ICONIC. -
this song is great. objectively one of my favorites from LFL. i remember when it came out as a single i had it playing in the car right after my high school graduation ceremony and watching the highway lights go by

I believe she said on BBC radio that she's ending with The Grants

As people leave the fandom, others join who connect with the new material. Everyone is different

Yeah we've been having this same conversation over and over and over and over and over and over again and it's true. It you miss her old stuff, then go ahead and listen to it–– it's all on streaming. And we just had a 5-song leak full of "new" old songs. And we'll continue to receive old outtakes. Go listen to those. They exist.

What drew me to Lana at the very very very beginning (BTD era) was her lower register. So i turn into a puddle whenever she uses that. Candy necklace has me in a chokehold

I trust Nepo Dad more than I trust myself. She is touring.

i don't know to be honest i really feel like that's the most "lana" any of her albums can get- #2 for me. ride and yayo are like... beyond iconic

i think the record is brilliant. it feels confident and mature. i still need more time to sit with it but it just feels like someone who's been *in it.* in the game for a long time, seen it all, heard it all, internalized ideas that don't match up to her sense of self, but prevails by sheer talent and lyricism. stand out songs for me are A&W (still my favorite song she's put out in the last 4 years along with Mariners), Candy Necklace, Peppers, and Grandfather. also.... Candy Necklace met my expectations. my god. her vocals on that song, some of the best she's ever performed. the breathiness in the chorus... takes me to another world. and I love Peppers so much. Tommy Genesis's performance is so great and it's so carefree and silly to ride it into a Dick Dale song. I actually thought a lot of parts of the record were funny, especially Taco Truck x VB. ...but was VB necessary to end on? to me, it sort of felt forced, like a "hey, in case you don't like this album, remember venice bitch?" and I was hoping for a new vocal rendition of VB, not the same vocals with different beats. and it felt a little disconnected from the other parts of the album. it's not what i was expecting for a closer. my biggest issue with the album is wordiness. she seems to get lost in much of what she's saying and almost loses control of the melodies in songs like kintsugi and fingertips. also margaret was a total wash to me. i just really don't need to hear a mediocre jack antonoff performance right after an incredible father john misty one. overall, the reason NFR still stands up as a better record in my opinion is because it just felt more refined. there are elements of this album that feel lost, but the direction she takes us towards the end seems like she's in a pretty happy place, and i think we can tell by the interviews she's giving lately etc. that she just seems so carefree. anyways i give it a 7.8/10
