first of all... her songs dedicated to people: living legend, TLY, dance till we die i also NEED to note that she's writing about her life when she was "only nineteen". this places the song in about 2005-2006, which is around when she lived on long island with her aunt and uncle, worked as a waitress (obviously), her uncle taught her to play guitar with those "six chords, and she wrote sirens. sirens is such a beautiful, simple collection of work to me, and the voice and sound is so fragile, delicate, and peaceful. i imagine some of the songs on chemtrails to sound similar - and, considering that this album is folkier, has country-rooted, etc elements, is stripped down, i feel like it'll have tinges of sirens. also because she's writing ABOUT that time in her time when she learned to play guitar and started making music. also note that some random critic said about sirens: "though her vocals are often weak and shaky, her tone sounds delicate and sweet on all these simple tracks". Many critics compared the album to something they would hear in a small-town coffee shop"... does that not sound like the weak and shaky trembling of white dress chorus as described by miss del rey herself? she's pulling us back before everything, before AKA, before kill kill, before that sound. and that's not to say it won't have tinges of AKA. but the descriptions as stripped back, into the wild, country, folk, immediately bring sirens to mind

that fake snippet literally sounds like the downton abbey theme song.... stop snippets during our heavenly month of COCCARCH

i will add that the length of AKA is about 47 minutes, and the lengths of BTD and UV minus bonus tracks are in the ~50 minute range. which is obviously longer than 45 minutes, BUT aka is one of my favorite albums of hers and it never feels TOO short to me despite being relatively short. her longest albums sometimes feel SO long i can't sit through them and end up skipping pieces of it anyways (LFL) so i have hope that it won't feel TOO short

well anyways i hope we get fed something today. anything. i'll take the moon again... or her eating cheerios. ideally something a little more rich but anything would work

BUS will end us all... breaking up slowly is a hard thing to do

even if i don't end up liking BUS, i figure it'll be worth the wait. experiencing the album without snippets is just what i prefer (even though i've listened to TJF snippet.... lol), and considering that the "snippet" of BUS is more like 2/3 of the song, i think i'd rather experience it within the context of the album.... also considering it was live, and the production is likely not going to be the same, i want to hear it fresh and THEN experience the live version to compare so even if i hate it, i want to hear it within the album and see what surrounds it and makes it stronger

i'm actually excited to hear BUS maybe i have bad taste... but i want to hear it nonetheless. i've resisted listening to the snippet so i only have a general sense of what it sounds like and i really am interested to know how it'll sound on the album and with more substance to it

even her explicit albums really don't have that many explicit songs... LFL and NFR have the most w 6, UV has 4, paradise has 3, BTD and HM have 1. also i can't remember but there's either no or very few explicit songs on AKA. so i'd agree that being less explicit doesn't mean being more mainstream or less authentic also i'm pretty sure florida kilos, which is just CHOCK full of non family friendly content, isn't explicit... so not being explicit doesn't necessarily mean she's family friendly

we've been stuck in a time warp in this thread ever since she posted the 1st white dress teaser tomorrow we'll all wake up and it'll be february 6th again... she'll post... we WAIT for weeks... we decide on the 26th... boargate.... fighting in the cocc thread... fake snippets... nothing happens... she posts a 2nd teaser... we go to bed... it starts again but the promise of white dress someday, somewhere, sometime soon is keeping me going... i ban thee time warp and decide i'm going to wake up tomorrow march 1st and see the heavenly gates of white dress open and let me in

even if those are fake (they are) i still felt something for the first time since lana posted yesterday..... so thanks for the excitement
