  1. 100%. i'm just curious as to why when I make these exact same statements, i get attacked. Lmao. It genuinely perplexes me.
  2. Well, for starters, they've been repurposed a gazillion times. Mostly by folks going through trauma and pain, or those encouraging others to pick themselves up and move on. The very context of these statements implies self-healing, recovery, regaining balance, etc. Most of all, they're cliched statements. So, for me, this territory is more self-help isle in a bookshop, rather than any psychology corner with actual insights. But that's just my opinion. We don't have to agree on this, you know? It's just my opinion.
  3. Girl, I'm not preventing anyone from expressing their emotions. But it sure as hell seems you are? Wtf
  4. I feel completely the opposite. Self-analysis for commercial use doesn't appeal to me at all. She also sounds like some sad, miserable girl on Twitter. "The right person will stay." ""Real love doesn’t make you question your worth."" "Healing starts with acceptance." "The universe has a plan; trust it." "If they wanted to, they would." These vibes aren't growth at all imo. Lana's never sounded more like a basic b to me. Hopefully, the album doesn't sound like a musical equivalent of a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
  5. So, about that... Not to be a Negative Norman, but what is the timeline of the two singles? Two singles before StageCoach (April)? Didn't she already say "two singles before January," and then completely forgot about that? Why should we trust this statement? With the format of the "cover" being all wrong, I think it's safe to assume the actual cover is still WIP. Hopefully, the record title too. It's so bad. It's like "What's meant for you won't pass you by", "If they wanted to, they would", or "Actions speak louder than words." Yeah, duh. We know. It's all over sad folks' blogs, Twitters and instagram accounts. Why would anyone choose a truism for an album title? When "Lasso" is right there? Most importantly, how did we go from "Born to Die," "Ultraviolence," and "Norman Fucking Rockwell," which are so powerful and evocative, to "The Right Person will Stay"?
  6. I wouldn't really call it a cover. It's a cheap selfie with a filter on it.
  7. Like someone said, it's probably a "rock candy sweet" situation. She'll change her mind, get Neil to shoot a proper cover, and change the title again. Maybe add a few songs too. May is super non-committal. Until the label announces it, it's a made-up post that means nothing.
  8. Fair point. But would it have killed her to do a colorful sexy cover with Neil Krug? Not this picsart grandma nonsense? This is like her 4th monochrome/brown cover. I pine for Born to Die, Paradise or NFR aesthetics. Something with color and life in it. Also, by the look and singles of this record, we aint't getting LFL 2, we're getting BB or, hopefully, Chemtrails 2, and it's killing me. I just pray this is just a Lana moment, and her label will reinstate the old title and shoot a proper cover. 'Cause this ain't it.
  9. my thoughts exactly. Jack and Drew = BB (Jack wasn't available for the whole thing, so we get a bunch of different producers) 🤦🏻‍♂️ Home-made cover drop = BB (hope's there's backlash again and she redoes it because this cover is tragic. A selfie on the side of the road with picsart? Lazzzzy) Lame-ass title = BB (This time it's even didactic and cliched. I mean, a truism for an album title? 🤦🏻‍♂️ Lasso was 10 x cooler.) Also, Henry as the first single next year? Girl, you coulda dropped that a year ago.
  10. Amazing news! I might actually catch her in Dublin. I just hope she releases at least two Lasso singles until then.
  11. Coke vs Lana is subjective, as is what "brings more" to one's life. Also, who appointed you resident psychologist? At the end of the day, if people are obsessed and want to live their life "waiting around for an artist to do something", which none of us us doing, and I'm sure we're all super busy with school, work, relationships, etc, not only are you butting in other people's lives (i.e. complete strangers' lives), but you're also on the wrong forum, and the wrong thread. This is a Lasso Pre-release thread. Please take your judgement and throwing "crazy" or "pathetic" around elsewhere.
  12. Everyone here is a major fan, and we're all craving new music. Sometimes we can control ourselves and be flexibile, sometimes we're just dying for it. Because Lana's music means a lot to us, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's not like we're jonesing for coke. Pretty sure you've just offended half of this board.
  13. Kendrick Lamar's new album. Absolute fire
  14. Okay, guys, edit. Apologies... Typed it half asleep. Peace, and fee Palestine, of course.
  15. Oh, god. Not more of this torture... User was warned for this post.
  16. OMFG. Thank you! But then it sounds like more concerts in the UK and Ireland. Unless she'll debut a new single on BBC? What does everyone think? Any theories? Ireland throws me off. Otherwise I'd think single drop with Annie Mac
  17. Antonoff producing a KL album? I'm intrigued, that's a combo I'd never think would happen. Need to listen to it now
  18. Can't see the story, doing a social cleanse. What does it say? Lasso news?!! Please god make it so They just dropped 14-song album last year. And they're cooking up the new one. Not to mention they made 3 albums since 2019, and a number of other songs. They're quite productive actually. I don't get the Jack criticism at all. I guess now we're just whining about anythng that pops into our heads lol
  19. Guys, I hear you, but how do we know she's not? For all we know, she's in the studio withi Luke or even Cirkuit as we speak.
  20. Yeah, sure, that was great, and a very cool choice for her. Thanks for bringing that up. I wouldn't want it on an album though, unless she does Ultraviolence 2.0.
  21. Am I the only one who wants ZERO covers on this record? Tbh, the only covers she's done that I love are Doin' Time, Once Upon a Dream, and Goodnight Kiss at the BBC lounge. I'm ok with Home for Christmas and Blue Velvet too. This is just glorious: https://youtu.be/Qrgk60YRtxo?si=EXon2NrbtiMdrdk9 But The Other Woman, For Free, Blue Skies, Season of the Witch, and particularly Summertime (Gershwin), Country Roads, and Don't Let Me be Misunderstood are filler tracks personified. Sorry to the fans of these songs.
  22. Honestly, would it kill her to release something... anything it's been 5 months since tough, and 8 months since the album announcement. a tiny little snippet woudnt hurt anyone
  23. I hear you, but we also REALLY need to stop whining imo. She's dropped an album last year, she's put out Tough in July, she's given us many wonderful public appearances and done multiple large-scale gigs. She looks great and has really toned up. Happily married too. Girl's been super busy, and we know she's cooking up new music and really thinking about the outcome, as opposed to winging it (looking at you, Dula Peep and your last "album). I get that it's frustrating. But it's not like she's Adele who goes into hiding in her batcave for 5 years. Imagine being a Rihanna fan. Last album: 2016.
