I reckon Lasson will sound like if Lust for Life and Chemtrails had a baby. Some hip hop / bops, and a lot of acoustic guitar + a good few collabs.
-
Melon also has a review out i do agree that Bittersuite is the weakest. But he's harsh af too as well. Light to decent 7? No way. It's an 8 at the least It's good to disregard critics at time. Still the best Billie record ever imo.

Pitchfork review is out https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/billie-eilish-hit-me-hard-and-soft/ for once, i dont agree with them. This writer, Hannah, whoever she is, strikes me as cynical af She said the greatest pales in comparison to happier then ever. π as if billie tried to recapture that magic or sth. Also, the greatest >>>> happier than ever bullshit review

Lana Del Rey and Quavo βToughβ - OUT NOW!
barttttender replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in Latest News
And then when he said "next", he meant next month -
ikr. The woman has like 263 songs on that chart. How the fuck is that even possible lana's been working for 12 years making far superior music and only has 15. It's insane guess it's just another proof of humanity's less than optimal IQ
-
let's see if her album is any good.
-
It's a great bop, and I've had it on repeat. But I'm kind of bothered about the fact that this girl came out of nowhere and landed a 4th spot on US Billobard, whereas Lana only reached number 6 as a solo artist in like 12 years. Not fair lol. But goof for her, she deserved it.
-
100%. But then again who knows, after that Quavo collab news, maybe she'll mix it up.
-
i remember that. Painful af. But boy was that wait worth it in the end.
-
for me, it's the combo of Chihiro, The Greatest, Wildflower and Blue. Probably 4 of the best songs she's ever written. Also fucking with Lunch and Skinny. The others 4 I'm not obsessed with but they're still good - more listenable than most of happier
-
it was 107 days between OB and the album drop? Can't believe we all survived that, we deserve fucking medals. but yeah, once again, mid june seems really reasonable for single 1
-
It's such a tough call for me between this and Cowboy Carter. While Beyonce's record is more expansive and has so much to unpack, Billie's achieved more in a shorter amount of time. Is there anything on Cowboy Carter that's as soulful and deep as Wildflower? Not sure. Are there any cuts on Cowboy Carter that are so out there and creative like Chihoro? Not sure. It's kind of crazy how this 21 year old girl and her brother can make an album in their basement that rivals Beyonce's record that has 50+ people writing it and producing it. At the moment, I feel like it should be Billie on that stage.
-
Not sure if this was posted: It's an imaginary (AI) song for Lasso. Honestly, if this was a lead single (with better vocals from Lana), I wouldn't mind this direction at all. It's giving Tarantino, it's giving Kacey Musgraves, Nancy Sinatra, and it's fabulous.
-
Blue gave me some Get Free vibes in terms of percussion and lyrics. Also, NFR (the song) lyrically. Some of the other titles and lyrics, too, are dark, Lana-esque. But yeah, generally, Billie is very much her own artist, and I genuinely don't think she gives a fuck about influences and what anyone else is doing at all. Which what makes this record even stronger. It's kind of in a league of its own.
-
PREACH. I'm obsessed with it
-
so, why post on the new Billie Eillish record if you dont even think she can sing?
-
Ok got it. If i said mariah carey can't sing, that's my opinion and is valid as such ππ» doesn't matter if she can hit a high C or whatever. Let's just ignore the facts of life and concept of reality, to honor everyone's opinion regardless of whatever that opinion is point-blank nonsense
-
all those ppl there chatting twittering standing right next to her and no one asked simple question π€¦π»ββοΈ youre all fired
-
all of you dissing her vocals and saying she has a horrible voice π€¦π»ββοΈ you lose all credibility when you bring that up. Her vocals are factually strong. Any vocal coach will tell you that. You can like her voice or dislike it but the girl can sure as hell sing. So, maybe reframe these statements if you guys want to be taken seriously
-
Billie's and her brother's music is remarkably deep for their age. When you compare that album with Grande or Dula Peep's, the difference in maturity couldn't be more stark. Dula comes across as a complete airhead by comparison. (Sorry Peep fans) It's incredible that someone who's 22 can write a song like BLUE. I swear guys, this is one of the best albums of the year. Definitely made me an even bigger fan.

Lana Del Rey and Quavo βToughβ - OUT NOW!
barttttender replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in Latest News
Nothing's gonna happen for at least 3 more weeks, babe. They'll be shooting, editing, color correcting. At best, we'll get a teaser for the video on social in a week or two. It's excruciating. It's almost better not knowing that anything is underway and just be surprised when an MV + single drop. -
the choice of single is fine (what else was she gonna choose, blue?) also, the video is cool af. Just billie being cute and fucking around. No big budget, no 3 min dialogue rubbish intro (looking at your charlie xcx)... a simple throwack to late 80s/90s MTV shit that presents the song as fun and vibey, which it is calm down, people. It's not the only mv she'll drop obvs
-
I agree. Didnt do the song justice at all. Felt very small and basic. The OG homemade mv was better. Fun fact: that was the first lana video i ever watched. I thought they found a girl to act like the singer - couldnt believer her voice was that good and she looked THAT HOT. Thought it was a millie vanillie situation lmao

no way is taylor winning twice in a row. Not in a year when beyonce has a record out, a and far superior one at that also, didnt taylor get kinda panned for poets? cowboy -> hit me > poets
-
hit me The first one happier but they're all 7/10 and above
