i mean, yosemite wasn't what i was hoping for personally. it's very dreary, almost morose, and the chorus is kinda dumb. I did it for you, you did it for me, we did it for blah, i did it for blah (paraphrasing). not her best lyrical monent. Though i do like the atmosphere, it's a bit wuthering heights, and i like the candle in the wine bit. 3/5. Hardly worth the hype

Anyone else think that Roses Bloom for You is not all that? Sounds like an outtake from the Honeymoon sessions, and not a great one at that. Wouldn't want it anywhere near Lasso tbh.

Her looks were the only good thing about this era. Was a fan before, but aside from the first two singles, this era is best be forgotten. Complete fail of an album and one of the year's worst imo.

None of which charted or got any radio play. As much as I love Taco Truck, a hit it ain't. Tough already outstreamed it in just over a month. Tough: 76th most streamed LDR song of all time on Spotify, Taco: 113th. Fishtail: 126th. Not that it means that Tough is a better song, but this is a conversion about hits... AW, Let the light in and Peppers did better, but I wouldn't call them hits....

You guys are in for such a disappointment. Tough is gonna be on Lasso. And having an album with a bonafied hit would be a nice change after 3 albums without a single one. Just sayin'. If Lana doesn't think to add it, Ben or Interscope sure will. It's Doin' Time all over again.

Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!

music to my ears. Queue the Tough haters in 3,2,1.... -
100% agree with this. I also think hearing Cowboy Carter, Billie's new record, Brat, etc. made her rethink what she had, and if songs like Henry are gonna "cut it" in a highly creative year for music. On some level, she must also be aware that Tough did way better than any of the singles off her past 3 records, and probably wants to add it to Lasso, (like she did with Doin' Time), which you can't do if all the other songs are gonna be standard country. So, she's probably adding some new songs or layering/beats, rearranging the tracklist, etc. If that's the case,tThat means it's not sent for record printing yet, so the record wouldn't be coming out before January next year. That being said, she might have finished making these tweaks and sent it, and we might have a single in September, who the fuck knows.

This thread is a snooooooozeeeeeee fest supreme. (Not through any fault of ours, of course.) But basically, it could've easily had 5 pages of comments (3 for when Lasso was announced and 2 after Lana said she's changing it). As it is, it's basically 475 pages of NOTHING. When September comes, she better say something, anything, to fix this mess.

Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!
barttttender replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
Has your iTunes Ldr Essentials been updated with Tough? Mine still has random songs like 13 beaches and watercolor eyes, but no Tough. Which is weird, to say the least EDIT: Meanwhile, as soon as Gaga dropped the Bruno Mars collab, it went straight to number 1 spot on Gaga iTunes Essentials. This seems to happen with every artist except Lana. :/ Not even when Snow on the Beach came out, did it make an appearance on the essential list, let alone Tough. (Even though it charted for 5 weeks). But we do get Candy Necklace (flop), Watercolor Eyes, 13 Beaches and Prisoner, where she's a feature, that's almost 10 years old now and never really made a big splash.... So weird. There's nothing essential about these songs at all. It's like iTunes is doing her dirty. Or maybe it's Lana's team fail? -

Tough reaches week 5 on billboard. Again, only 4 LDR songs managed to hold this far. Also, at nearly 100 million streams, it's nearing top 70 LDR songs on Spotify, having now outstreamed these: Lucky Ones 90,847,894 30,652 Let Me Love You Like A Woman 88,723,784 26,055 Body Electric 86,948,706 33,900 Heroin 85,610,147 31,190 Blue Velvet 79,640,537 29,643 Tomorrow Never Came (feat. The only voice of reason on this thread -
She's great, that Good Luck, Babe song is one of the year's best. Haven't really liked anything else I've heard but I'll give the whole album a shot before making a judgement.

Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!
barttttender replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
I think it's a smart move personally. Tough had 3 weeks on Billboard. Having it appear on the radio now will ensure Week 4, possibly Week 5. With all the waiting we've had with this single, it actually transpired that Lana's and Quavo's team knew what they were doing and have given us Lana's biggest hit this decade. EDIT: This just in, Tough made it to week 4 on Billboard- https://www.billboard.com/artist/lana-del-rey/. Again, that's the 5th longest charting song of her 12+ year career. Right after Summertime Remix, Y&B, Snow, and Angel. Most others have dropped after week 1 or 2, even Say Yes to Heaven only lasting 3. So, to all the Tough detractors, I hope you know appreciate just how well this song has done now? It's the 6th highest chart entry and the 5th longest chart entry for Lana, and maybe the only Lana song this decade we've heard on the radio that's not a Taylor collab. -
NFR is a peak for sure. But what they've done subsequently on songs like White Dress, Chemtrails, Wild at Heart, A&W, Ocean Boulevard, Taco Truck, etc. definitely has a spark and a loads of inspo and creativity behind it. I think you're being a bit unfair. My only beef with OB is that it's a incoherent. But I do agree with you that Lasso should try to sidestep some of their comfort zone/lazier efforts and break new ground/reach for new heights. More Tough and AW-sounding hopefully, since they've made about 4000 ballads in five years.

Ummm i wouldn't go that far though lol 😅 Top 30 or 35 maybe. but yeah, the way some people hype up songs like Fingertips, Flipside, or Interlude: the Trio, but slam Tough is insane -

My lord, this collab is fire. Going straight to my summer playlist. Jesus fucking christ, billie is killing it this year.

I wish Lana would stay clear of promoting her brother's "music". To say that it's bizarre is an understatement.

Most of her albums have a 2-year gap. Only Honeymoon and BB have arrived the year following her previous record. Six months ago, she obviously thought Lasso would happen sooner ala HM and BB. But it's clear now that it's likely to be a 2025 release as per the usual gap in between records. In the meantime, we've likely got one or two more Quavo tracks, maybe some unreleased content, collabs, concerts, and the first Lasso single, if we're lucky, so this is a very standard release wait time for the fans. The only mistake she made was to speak prematurely and announce the record for September, but she has since rectified that statement. So, we're all on track for Lasso 2025. There is no reason to complain at all.
