Me too. Reading 564 pages of basically nothing is starting to piss me off a subconscious level. Would it have killed her to give us a relase date? Or the single's name. Fucking hell

I'm really hoping it's something a bit trashy like that Quavo shoot where he wears the shirt I love sluts and Lana is sitting next to him smiling. Or some swampy, sexy aligator themed vibe. She's been looking very hot lately, and I think it's time to show off her toned body a bit, too. Just like trashy unglamurous redneck type shoot maybe with cowboy boots. Come on Neil, give us THE COVER
-
This is soo sooo true. No way is anything dropping sooner, by the looks of it.
-
nicki gave us Prettiest Girl in Country Music. Have you not heard that song? The bashing stops today. Fanksss

Not sure to Fine China being on Lasso. Let's have a record jam-packed with new songs like we had with OB. Big no to it being a single. It would flop even more than Let Me Love You Like a Woman or Candy Necklace did. Basically, that song belongs on Blue Banisters, or any upcoming recycle-themed record ala Blue Banisters.
-
Everyone wants an MV but since Doin' Time, nobody's really tuning in to watch lmao. Every MV flops, aside from Tough maybe, which also didn't do that great. It's tragic that Candy Necklace has less than 5M views one year later. Meanwhile, Houdini got 156M even though it's just a rehash of Madonna's Hung Up with half the budget and even less creativity. No wonder Lana (or Beyonce) isn't keen on doing them. It feels like the song nees to be radio-friendly and some ass shaking needs to happen for anyone to care.

What Lana songs best showcase her take on different genres?
barttttender replied to motel six's topic in Lana Thoughts
Love these. Adding to the mix. Venice Bitch - psychedelic rock (the trippy guitars, the drug references, the dreamy vibe, yep, this is psychedelic rock all right) West Coast - rock (from the drums at the start to the bass to the wall of guitars in the chorus, this is rock sublime) Born to Die - baroque pop (lush orchestral arrangements, pop sensibilities, cinematic quality...) Prettiest Girl in Country Music - country (My momma raised me on Tweak Peaks and sweet cherry pie....) -
I mean, she could have written a song mentioning any of the PAST Grammys she's attended. Maybe the one where she lost to Billie's album? I'm not saying the Insider is for real, but I wouldn't dismiss him based on this. Many artists mention Grammys all the time - regardless of whether they've actually been nominated, attended and especially when they attended.

Good. I hope she gets going on her new album sooner rather than later and doesn't just wing it like she did with Radical Optimism. Also, I'm surprised Illusion lasted that long on Billboard - it's really not that great of a song, but I'm happy at least did the singles did well. The first 2 singles were good (and that's the only positive thing I can say about this record on the whole).

people just don't get that on here. They'll stan fingertips but they'll dis tough. Everyone wants a fucking masterpiece each time. But what's wrong with a good gym track or track to lift your mood / dance to. 🤷🏻♂️ there's a reason why doin' time is the most streamed off nfr. It certainly wasn't the best track. and let me tell you, without doin' time, nfr wouldn't have been streamed as much as it was. You need radio friendly bops on a record at least for the streams and commercial success. And if you dont like it, skip it. but it's not like y'all don't skip certain songs on each record anywayzz

Ok, is this for real, THANK YOU. <3<3<3 My questions are: 1. Do you know if Tough is going to be on Lasso. 2. Which of the three songs did you like the most? 3. Which of them do you think will be the next single? Will that be the lead single, or was Tough the lead single? 4. When do you think the single will drop? 5. Are any of these a collab? 6. Do you know if there are any collabs on the record. Love ya!

Leeds, ENG @ Reading & Leeds Festival - August 25th, 2024
barttttender replied to Elle's topic in 2024 Performances
she has so many long ballads in her sets; i wouldn't have cried over OB, and especially not over Grants, which is just not one of her best ballads anyway. Better to hear Y&B, Hope, etc. -

Didn't they cut her show short, and then apologized later? It's all over the news. It wasn't Lana's fault for the gig to have lasted shorter than usual, with songs cut. https://www.ladbible.com/entertainment/music/lana-del-rey-reading-festival-cut-short-354785-20240825 https://m.imdb.com/news/ni64785175/?ref_=nwc_art_plk -
So i just read the vogue peace, and what the article says is: We simply cannot wait. But good news for diehard fans: Before the record drops, Del Rey promises there will be more singles on the way. You can expect a follow-up to her latest, “Tough” with Quavo, very soon. In Del Rey’s own words: “We have two more coming out by the end of the year!” Fuck, could this mean that these singles are just more Quavo collabs, following Tough and Lana's contribution to Fly? When Quavo said "we making hit", was he referring to four tracks? Did she mean "Quavo and I have two more coming out by the end of the year." Maybe we're not getting anything Lasso in 2024. Or are all these collabs on Lasso? Basically, it's super confusing. We could be getting a Quavo-free Lasso with two classic LDR singles off Lasso; or more Quavo collabs off of Lasso; or more Quavo x Lana one-offs. Nothing is clear.

Everyone just thinks it's cool to hate on tough since it's a hit. But, in reality, the reviews were good, the reception was good, the streams were good, the charts were good, the mv was good.
-
honestly, even i don't care. I just think it will happen because it's a hit and ben and interscope will probably push for it. Also, it might be a reason why the album is taking longer/change of direction. All i need is a big song ala ride or a bop on this record - if tough is not on it. Good reviews. A few tracks as solid as wild at heart. Prettiest girl in country music. And no filler songs like the two ob interludes.
-
she just said "two more singles." So it's in. also, it's co-written by jack + lana's old bf. It's her song. Also, remember when doin' time became a hit and she added it to nfr? Same story (and why not given that it's amassing so many daily listens) also, it's kinda country. Love it or hate it, it's a lasso track
-
So, what's everyone expecting for the next single? I reckon Tough is the bop of the record, but the second single will still have some oomph to it. Not a bop but sth like Ride or Love, bit more melodic and cheery. Then the third single will be a big ol' ballad.
-
Her and jack for sure. i'm so excited for these singles. But since she said "two MORE", it means Tough was the first (told ya). so, i guess first single july, second single september (since august is clearly not happening), and third single november (by the two month break logic of the first two). Or something like that. By that logic, february/march 2025 might be when the album drops, which would be two years after OB. Which tracks with the usual in-between albums period for lana

breaking up slowly is indeed shyte. But prettiest girl in country music is redemption next level. Cant wait

Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!
barttttender replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
tough hate is getting old. 🥱 over 100 million on Spotify in leas than two months, already outstreamed american, blackest day, cruel world and many other tracks that have been around for a decade. i know you guys dont like it. But the world does. So give it a rest -
told ya
-
It's funny, I'm just having it in the background right now, not knowing the song's title, and as soon as I read your post I knew it was that song, and it was. Super cute. The album is fine, imo. On a first listen, it doesn't sound like it contains any highs at the level of Espresso or Please. Some of the songs sound like fairly generic radio fodder. But it's a fine album. Bettter than Dua Lipa's, but not by much. Nowhere near Cowboy Carter or Hit Me Hard and Soft.
-
me too. Better than 80% of Chemtrails (title track, wild at heart and white dress being the other 20%).
-
haha, very funny, guys. My top lana track is venice bitch. So you can imagine how important hits are to me overall. Tough makes my top 30-50. But roses bloom for you is still mid. I'm sorry. I can't. Don't hate me.
