Forgive me if this is already a topic somewhere, but it's driving me CRAZY!
 
Who wrote the ending monologue to the NA music video - Lana or Jackie O.? I see it attributed to Jackie, but I can't find proof ANYWHERE. And it sounds like something Lana could have written. Anyone have a link to Jackie having written it?

So i made a couple of different single arts for some of the songs on Ultraviolence, including an alternative album cover. It didn't take much work but i like how these came out. Tell me what you think. Welcome to LANALYSIS, where we get real unhealthy in our obsessions and absolutely revel in it.

This is a project I've been maintaining for a while now--Lana + Analysis...get it? The basic purpose is to relate every one of her songs (that's right, every last one of them) to her known and assumed relationships. Not a stone is left unturned. Privacy is violated. The fans rejoice. Mind you, it’s all pure speculation, but ~this is what makes us stans~

It’s pretty long but an interesting read, if I do say so myself. I hope you enjoy it in all it’s updated glory, and I will continue to update as new information is revealed and new songs come out. I will also be adding pictures, sources, etc. Stay tuned!

- Who the fuck is K?

- Who the fuck is Bill? Is Bill really K? Does Bill matter at all?
- What significance do cars play? She mentions eight in total (white Corvette, white Pontiac, blue Chevy Nova/Chevrolet, Cadillac convertible, Mercedes, pickup truck, Lamborghini, Bugatti Veyron)
- When was she/who was she with in New York City and New Jersey? Ditto LA? Most mysterious and pressing, her time in the South?
- Did she have a fling with Bradley Soileau?
- Did Chris C. matter enough to her for her to write songs about him?

Assumptions Made:
- Lana was a gogo dancer.
- K is a drug dealer/murderer, dead or on death row.
- Jimmy is her ex-fiancé, addicted to cocaine despite a Wikipedia page stressing how healthy he is, associated with Chevrolets.
- Much of Sirens is about completely different relationships.
- She fucked Bradley.
- Mike controlled her career but their relationship wasn’t associated with anything fucked up like drugs or stripping.

For the sake of believability, I'm always hunting receipts, and currently:
- The interview where she refers to "Yayo" as the prequel to "Video Games"
- The interview where she describes "Video Games" as dealing with mutual sobriety in a relationship--her and her partner both staying clean.
- The interview where she talks about meeting her boyfriend in rehab and being dazzled by his small-scale celebrity.

American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy dropped some pretty exciting news - one of Lana‘s songs is going to be featured in the new Freak Show season.
One of the show’s fans tweeted at him and said she thinks she is going to be too scared to watch the show this year.
“Tina, don’t be afraid!” Ryan tweeted back. “The clown is scary, true. But don’t you wanna see Jessica Lange sing a Lana Del Rey song?”
 
So guesses anyone? I'd have to say Once Upon a Dream is spooky enough...but that's already a cover and I think this is going to be an original song!

Ultraviolence was called Melancholia before Dan. It would be even more cinematic, orchestra.

I think it's because there are so many BtD demos available that the Paradise and UV ones aren't available; Lana's record team got a lot smarter with securely storing their songs on the internet. Besides, I don't think Paradise has any demos as Lana said in an interview something about Paradise being recorded 'all in one take', suggesting no demos were produced for it. The only one that (apparently) exists is the Laptop Demo of Cola.

Is it me or is it weird that there are many demos to be found on the internet of the album Born to Die, but almost nothing from Paradise and UV?

I'm fascinated to hear what she came up with before Dan came along, but don't think we'll ever get to hear it. Lana has nothing to gain and everything to lose by having it heard (if it's not as good as the released version, people will say she only got the songs right with help; if it's better than the released version, people will criticise her for releasing the wrong version). And I'm still amazed that she went from having everything leaked, to having UV not leak at all, which is unbelievable in this day and age (the leak we all got came from a copy purchased in a store).
 
That said, I love the alternate version of 'West Coast', and if there was a record like that, I'd be first in line for it. That vibe only fits a couple of other songs on the record, though, and is nothing at all like the only other alternate version we have (Black Beauty demo). The demos that were leaked before UV came out all sound like they're from different projects, and none of them have quite the right mood for what UV ended up being, except BB. The other songs she released outside of the records were in a darker singer/songwriter style (Leonard Cohen, Lee and Nancy), and it feels like the first version of UV was going to be a lighter companion to those (Joni Mitchell and the Eagles rather than Nico and the Velvets). I wonder whose idea it was to have those loud guitar solos in PWYC and SOC, and whether there is much distorted guitar on her original record. 
 
Just look at the bonus tracks - any of these could have been potentially the basis for the sound of a whole album:
West Coast (alt version) - laid back 70's rock
Black Beauty - Dark 80's power ballad
Guns and Roses - No idea how to characterise this one, but as far away from 1987 Hard Rock as you can get with rock instruments
Florida Kilos - Up tempo 2000's pop
Is This Happiness - Downbeat Jeff Buckley-ish torch song
Flipside - late 80's - early 90's Sonic Youth/Hole/Nirvana-ish sound

I've been dying to get the demos.

Not me but my friend legit asked if the lyric was "I sing the body de leche."
