that’s what i’m saying – the grammys have no shame, but even then they wouldn’t take it this far. she’s right next to miss taylor swift at the very front! come on i’ve been excited for tomorrow since her nominations were announced, i cant believe the day is finally here. i feel it in my soul she’ll def take home at least 2 grammys. i think a lot of award programs/critics have been really giving lana her flowers recently and she’s bigger than ever before. she’s gonna be really happy to win and maybe feel more encouraged to keep doing what she does

So…I have been interested in vocals for years now. By no means am I an expert and I also have zero training; I’ve just watched a lot of videos on this topic and a lot that encompasses it such as agility, belting, breath support, straining, etc. Lana, in my opinion, is a great singer. Her voice is like nothing I’ve heard before, her tone naturally has a melancholy/vintage quality, and she uses her voice in unique and creative ways. Is she, on the other hand, an excellent vocalist? Not really. Definitely not on the level of modern singers like Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Perrie Edwards, Tori Kelly, etc. She’s quite untrained. That being said…there are so many vocal moments that have impressed me, and I thought I’d create this thread to share them and for you guys to share your favorite moments as well! Additionally if someone is educated on the technical aspects of singing, feel free to analyze her vocals. Ended the whisper singers! 3:00 is legendary Thought this was a good analysis

right wtf there’s no reason to combine them. in that case i’d barely consider lasso ‘ldr10’ if half of it is covers but imagine how well fed we’d be if she released lasso in september and then american standards and classics in november

if ‘lasso’ is also a song, idk why but i’m getting strong ‘the trio’ vibes from it. i don’t think it’ll be a plain guitar song, i’m getting trap western from the title specifically it makes sense because lana always has unexpected tracks on her albums. dark but just a game & tulsa jesus freak on cocc, black bathing suit, dealer, and the trio on blue banisters, the trap songs at the end of ocean blvd. so even tho the album can mostly be folk/country i think there’ll def be something unexpected on there as usual. also jack & lana always give us at least one legendary song…vb, white dress, and a&w are god tier. bb was mostly produced by drew and even tho i love it, i wouldn’t say it has an ‘epic’ song on it; bbs and iyldwm come close but those three jack & lana songs i mentioned are next level imo. just my thoughts

i didn’t even know jack was capable of making this type of dreamy/vintage sound so where is that with lana?! actually, we all blame jack but lana is prob the one that wants to keep things minimal nowadays…but if she just had a vision for something with a similar sound to this, imagine the album we can get

yeah tbh i want completely new producers from the ones she’s worked with for the past few albums - jack drew & zach. but we know that’s not gonna happen so

jack and lana…please make more songs like venice bitch, mariners apartment complex, fuck it i love you, the greatest, white dress, chemtrails, tulsa jesus freak, (beginning of) taco truck, and a&w. no one will complain about your music ever again

manifesting: • more piano songs like french restaurant, candy necklace, and paris texas – sublime melody and creative use of the instrument, not just four chords played over and over (*cough* jack and drew *cough*). when lana brings in actual pianists like jon batiste, syml, and whoever composed french restaurant we get heaven. • more guitar songs like let the light in, mariners apartment complex, yosemite, and dragonslayer – i want to hearrrr the instrument not just have it muted in the background. henry come on is a good start but the guitar is a little too quiet and simple, hopefully it builds up to strumming. • more moments like the end of iyldwm and the bridge of dance til we die, especially if this is a folky country album.

i don't hate boygenius but i'm not understanding the critical acclaim; how are they up there with lana? not a fan of their whisper singing and tumblr style of songwriting.
