DupeGate 2022/ November 29th, 2022 Lore On November 29th, 2022 around 12:30A.M. EST the one and only @Elle posted a status update. This update essentially laid out the fact that she had been catching up on her flag notifications when she noticed some unsettling information. This information mainly regarded the existence of several dupe accounts made by current Lana Boards members, including a user that had twelve dupe accounts. This is depicted below. Context Mind you this follows a long spell of self-proclaimed insiders claiming fake dates, upcoming content, etc. after an otherwise lackluster period of information regarding Lana’s upcoming album (then known only as LDR9). There are multiple examples of these fake insiders claiming to know more than they actually do but most prolifically (from this era) include @TheDollClub. This discovery of active Lana Boards members creating dupe accounts to parade around as insiders sparked the immediate attention of users across the forum. Some examples can be found below. ***NOTE FOR ABOVE SPOILER*** This screenshot includes ZERO confirmed or even suspected dupe accounts as of writing this so do NOT assume this of any of the usernames listed above. Thank you The Shot Heard Around the World Shortly following the community’s immediate and (understandably) shocked reaction Elle drops an absolute bombshell. (See Below) Chaos Ensues A frenzy followed, slowly incurring into chaos as community members tried to narrow down the suspect list from the six members who commented on Elle’s status before she posted the above reply. The status update essentially turned into a thread over the span of a few hours, amassing well over 100 replies. The entire thread, which has been so meticulously and graciously screenshotted by Lana Board’s own @the ocean can be found below. A Queen addresses a Queendom in Chaos Although there aren’t many notable replies following the ones captured above, it goes without saying that Elle had the attention of the entire community active at the time. To end the madness that ensued Elle locked the status (so nobody could reply anymore) and ended it with this reply. Queen Pages the Royal Guard(s) Not long after the topic of these dupe accounts got to an even more serious turn. Elle posted a new status update that can be found below. The Salem Witch Trials of LanaBoards Shortly after Elle posted this status update, a thread was started by user @Hydroponic Weeds. This thread was intended to be a light-hearted mystery thread trying to see exactly who may have been behind some of the dupe accounts that have been discussed in the earlier status replies thread of Elle’s. This can be found below. Notable Comments One notable comment from this thread can be found below by user @bikinigold . This member is now banned, which we can extrapolate to mean they were one of (many) dupes or accounts otherwise found to be breaking community guidelines in some way, shape, or form. The End of the Trials Elle closed the thread just a few moments later, as it was obvious that the mod team had a lot going on at the time and they didn’t need yet another chaotic thread to moderate on top of what they were already dealing with regarding dupe accounts. The Return of a Dark Evil... Soon after, IT happened. Lana Boards, for the first time in a long time, was hit by a scat attack. This was carried out by a person who had previously attacked the forums with extremely graphic gifs of… well you know. Mentioning their name would be giving more attention to the person and making life for the mods just a little bit harder so I wil not mention them. Needless to say they were one of the many dupe accounts that had been discovered shortly before the attack took place. The boards quickly exploded with status updates warning of the graphic contents the scat attacker had posted on various threads and spammed all over the site as quickly as they could. One initial reaction can be found below, although there were many. The mods, graciously and swiftly, banned the scatter and deleted all of the graphic content they had posted. The damage was done and after a long day of modding it was obvious the mods were tired. This can be seen below. Conclusion Needless to say October 29th, 2022 was an infamous day in Lana boards history. The exposure of multiple dupe accounts, the return of a vile Lana Boards occurrence (scat attacks), and the overall chaotic energy on the site was nearly unmatched. For better or for worse Lana Boards came out stronger after, and the mods showed their willingness to selflessly save us from the vile scatter. With this being said it was only two days later that miss Lana Del Rey herself, announced at a red carpet event, the upcoming release of info regarding her next album. Leaving us all the question is the scatter somehow an insider of some kind, a person who knows more than we do, or just a vile user who has impeccable timing... We may never know but what we do know is that the events of November 29th, 2022, will live in history. *****NOTE IMPORTANT**** This is a W.I.P. and is still an ongoing lore post. I honestly want to say that there isn't going to be many collabs on this album simply because we have truly heard nothing about it. Logistically speaking, the more people involved in a project the more likely things are to get out and we've truly not even heard crumbs of this next album besides for the one or two snippets Lana gave to us. It's always possible that everyone involved has just been really good at keeping things hush-hush but I'm also team no collabs so

I feel like we haven't talked about this enough, and it's totally speculative but this is the LDR9 meltdown thread after all so who cares. Do we think Lana will tour again? Even if it is a few shows here and there on the west coast or even a full tour like LATTM? I know with Covid and everything the last two years have been really iffy for live performance planning but now it seems like a lot of artists are falling back into the groove. Given that, what are the lipsters thinking on this one? We do know that she said she did appreciate the times she was able to perform with Nikki Lane and was genuinely enjoying performing for an audience even if it was a much smaller audience than her usual shows. We also know that the tour page on her website had been altered in some way even though we don't quite know how yet given the new website rollout is still a black screen. I personally think we might be able to look forward to at least a few west coast shows and even a few major cities, given the way this rollout feels so much different than COCC and BB especially. Obviously nothing is for certain and maybe I'm just being ignorantly hopeful but I really do feel like if this era continues to give the way it has been the last few days we might actually be fed.
