I totally agree on the former, she had other albums which were most definitely worthy, but cowboy carter wasn’t it (even though I really did love the record).. the album just didn’t have that much impact and longevity. She may be overdue, but giving her it after Jay-Z threw a huff last year feels insincere, like a sympathy Grammy.. and yup I’m letting my personal taste intervene with my Billie recommendation for the win, in reality, everyone is right, Brat probably was much more deserving because of its international impact.. I just never listened as it’s not my type of music.. but I saw the impact it had on everyone love that Kendrick swept though, considering his snubs in the past.. but I think his work this year has had a pretty high impact too

I’m shocked on the cowboy carter front, I actually loved the record but I played it obsessively and then one day I got bored and literally I NEVER revisit it Billie’s HMHAS seems more deserving to me because I go back to that record often and was actually consumed by it.. just feels a bit convenient Beyoncé getting the award after JayZ little tantrum last year lol

I honestly don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason for anything she does in terms of release, I think she just feels and does.. so we may as start looking to the stars for answers as this point I found Tuesdays tend to be her days she feels most fancy free to drop presales and merch etc.. it’s always favoured me well as I don’t work Tuesdays so I’m always prepped to go

Big Dylan fan here (even my doggo has his namesake!), saw the film earlier this week and I really loved it! Agree Timothee’s acting and performance phenomenal! Monica’s performance of Joan was flawless too! I just enjoyed listening to them both, was pretty sad when the film ended. Would love a follow up going further in to his life haha!! I just said in the other thread about how when Dylan is playing guitar while Joan’s sleeping that watercolour eyes started to play in my head.. and I’ve been thinking about Lana covering a Dylan record for TRPWS since.. her version of knocking on heavens door is beautiful. It ain’t me babe has always been my favourite Dylan song though, would love a cover of that.. though would it fit the theme of the record? I suppose maybe it could

I agree that I think Blake did look uncomfortable in those scenes, but I think the uncomfortably comes from not wanting to create conflict in her home life as prior to this she had been happy to work without an intimacy coordinator sometimes it’s easier to for women in these cases to project the problem on to a coworker than see that their husband can not stop them doing their job because he doesn’t like that she has to work with a man.
