Okay, so the other day on insta I saw the Gaga video again insinuating Madonna doesn’t write or produce her own stuff, and the comment section was wild! why does everyone think she has songs written for her when she has such a distinctive way of composing and writing? First of all she self-reference A LOT! Like the “fuzzy dreams” lyric and many more. She also tends to use “to me”, “everyone can see” and “like a” a lot. She also loves to use ethnic and cultural references in her songs. Even her beats are inspired by then, for example in Isaac, Shanti/Ashtangi, Mysore Style, Latte and Batuka. I will agree, after Hard Candy (for me the last really Madonna album) she got a little lazy and didn’t write much for herself. MDNA and Rebel Heart are specially not really hers. She still has some moments where u can clearly hear her like in Borrowed Time, Rebel Heart, I Rise, Future or Crave. People don’t give her enough credit for her lyrics and some are genius. They tend to focus more on her “provocateur” persona instead of paying attention to her lyrics (which are, in my opinion, her forte). I kinda disagree with this Death, Void (final), Leeches, Womb, Light Shower, Nymphology and BOTL must be one of her worst lyrically. It has this lazy writting method and the flow is mostly off. I know it’s a controversial take, but I think Moon Cycle is not as bad lyrically once you ignore the topic of the song. Like the metaphor is there, the flow is nice and it’s catchy. Tunnel Vision, The Contortionist, Evil, Moon Cycle and Faerie Soiree have the best lyrics in my opinion. Still can’t beat Void (demo), Garden, Needle & Thread, Fingers Crossed, Dragons Blood, Magnets or Emerald u on crack?

Daily reminder that Taste Of My Own might be her best song… like ever the lyrics are so good and honest I can’t ESV was a mess, specially considering she scrapped Hands Of Time, Jaded (demo) and Taste Of My Own for songs like Rose Colored Lenses or Flowers

Why do Eraser, Gluestick and Papercut (a GASLIGHTING bop) eat up every other track in K-12 and they aren’t even in the album?

She really served cunt and vocals in those live sessions OMG the improvement pd: Why is everybody so obsessed with Heartbreak on Stereo? Is not even that good and doesn’t fit the album sonically I better keep the same energy for Happy Forever, Heartbeat Away and Psycho Lover

I think this is the problem… also, so mad course the leaks for MM3 were so promising and a back to form but we got instead…

She did say live something about a deluxe and James Dean being on it so this time Im positive…

James Dean sound like a mix between Machine and Psycho Lover and I fucking love that! I hope Heartbeat Away, Happy Forever or Make Up make it to the deluxe (I know Make Up might be out as a stand alone single but if not) If she puts brand new songs I won’t be mad either. She has posted a couple stories in the studio since the album came out and it was finished a while ago so… her working in new tracks (specially after all the leak fiasco) makes sense to me

I mean… the problem is not Verde stealing the idea… the problem is how GODDAMN AWFUL the merch is… like a toddler could do it better Im sorry but I have no hope for Mel in the future, her eras are getting messier and messier. Portals outtakes were a break from all the madness and a back to form for her most creative side but after the album dropped we are back on track with the shitty concepts and ideas (starting with that costume)

I mean… Halloween is Chrismas for gays and Slayyyter is the queen of gays. the material is there… Final Girl, That Bitch, Monster,… she would slay a Halloween themed album

Melanie is the clear example of how once u give someone too much money they start loosing focus and their craft starts loosing distinction with much less she used to do great MV.
