if Lanz drops a single tomorrow I will fucking shit myself. like, I don't even have classes tomorrow so it'd literally be perfect. -
it was in august of 2012. i was tired of seeing "LANA DEL REY - VIDEO GAMES" being advertised around all of the gaga i was consuming, and clicked to see what the deal with this chick was. kinda expected some messy #selfie realness (before its time ) and then the strings started and lana was there in her yellow sweater and i was done in for good. i just knew. <3

First Lana Song You Heard / Downloaded

Video Games, in August of 2012 -- then, in short order, I found Kill Kill, You Can Be The Boss, Kinda Outta Luck and Off To The Races, and went from there. -
Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Platinum Greenwich replied to Monicker's topic in Lana Thoughts
Some people use "Dangerous" but I don't think that's official, as it were. -
^ Get the fuck out of here with your 2002 Avril Lavigne emo ass. ... I was expecting mediocre pop with an 8-bit gimmick, and got a surreal chick in a yellow sweater instead, purring over flourishing strings. It took me all of 37 seconds to fall head-over-heels in love. There's nothing more to that. Dark stories, for me, didn't come along until far later -- and then I used Sirens as leverage to get back on my feet. So, yes... I'm thankful to have found Lana, but it wasn't until far later I realized the depth of that gratitude. #deep

On a more serious note, given my last contribution to this thread... Pick a song, any song from 2005 or 2006, tbh. Aviation is special. "Have a big degree in philosophy, but I don't know what I wanna be..." "There's somethin' she doesn't know about -- a secret he doesn't show about... a sensitive sign on his arm. Oh, my. She got her skeletons as well; some secrets he knows she'd never tell..." All of Wait and There's Nothing To Be Sorry About. "Lord, watch over my love..." So much raw poetry, about subjects that are as childish as they are legitimate. Relatability at its finest. #feels overload since i just listened to all of her may jailer shit for this

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
Platinum Greenwich replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
Wasn't aware we knew of his first name -- but I suppose it's on record somewhere, so nevermind! Pretty sure she is singing "Billy", though. It's definitely a B- or M-word. -

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
Platinum Greenwich replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
I just had something of an epiphany. So like, in this live rendition of Boarding School, she sings "Come on, Billy -- let's go to boarding school". I've been thinking that maybe Hundred Dollar Bill is about Lana selling herself to Bill(y) from Trash Magic and DICWB all the while Jimmy is okay with it... but aside from those theories, the above alteration has now got me thinking: What if Mr. Campbell's name is, say, William Campbell -- Bill(y) for short -- and he used to buy lemonade from Lana's stand, back in the day? That theory might be giving me legitimate, creepy Lolita teas, but still... He might've also used to pick her up in his pick-up truck (making me think of Rayse, even though that song is more ambiguous as to whom it is dedicated), but that kinda goes against the Thunderbird in Baby Blue Love -- assuming BBL is a Campbell track to begin with; I don't know the consensus on that one. this is probably idiotic and i need ma pc taken away from me but it's 8AM and i haven't slept yet and my brain is doing things -
Create an Unreleased Lana Album/Playlist
Platinum Greenwich replied to PrettyBaby's topic in Lana Thoughts
Thank you! <3 From your previous post, I wonder -- what's the tracklist for the Dope Cinema volume? I'm force-feeding my dad Lana -- he likes to listen to mixtapes in the car lmfao -- and he likes BTD fair enough, but thinks it drags on, so I'm in the process of burning all your playlists to CDs for his further listening enjoyment. -
