  1. I love Sirens and I love to discuss about it but I think that mods should merge this thread with Sirens Post Release Thread? Or the Pre-Fame Creative Process Discussion Thread?
  2. I'm pretty sure its their edit because i used google lens and only the user's profile came up, so yeah. It's maybe AI generated too.
  3. Are you sure this is real, it looks like edited idk why

Am I only one who thinks that New America's strings (or synths? or violins which sound like synths?) intro is very similar to Lana's Butterflies Pt 2 strings intro? Those were my first thoughts when I heard that song for the first time when it was released.
  5. (I know you weren't talking about me, I hope but) RIP me then, I post everywhere and every day and I know I'm definitely getting on someone's nerves every day lol

    Hit & Run

Ever since thst time I became a stan, this song had been always one of my favorite unreleased songs of hers. But currently...there's something about this song that just hits. Especially the gorgeous second alternative version of the song. It reminds me of those old times when I was just carefree, listening to this song The production on the second altervative version is so stunning, fabulous, glamorous. Reminds me of Born To Die so much (this version probably was meant for it). She definitely sampled the intro for Love Song, they're so similar. The fact that the producer is dead now too...
  7. Still an amazing album every track is just phenomenal for me. Candy Necklace, A&W, Let The Light In, Fingertips, Kintsugi, Paris Texas, Ocean Boulevard, Grandfather, let's just say ALL SONGS (yes even the interludes) are perfect their own and they all sound so beautiful. Gorgeous production, brilliant lyricism. The melodies are very stunning too. And of course the album photoshoot! The tracks are like different from eachother but they have some kind of similarities too. Each song has their own story, their own place in the album and their own quirks. Even the music video for Candy Necklace is so pretty and phenomenal! My favorite music video of hers! This album is like a documentary of Lana's life, her hopes and dreams (well, at least for me). Those songs she has sang from the album so far, sound really great in live too! Lana created such a timeless masterpiece and I hope she knows that too! One of her best albums with one of her best songs of her career! Candy Necklace stan forever!
  8. This thread is a proof that Lana has an amazing discography and it helps unite fans through interesting discussions!
  9. The Dan Heath Orchestral Remix of West Coast is her best remix ever released. West Coast is still THAT song, the official version slaps, the radio mix slaps and even this remix slaps I have too many favorite Lana songs but I know that West Coast is the one that stays in the top
  10. I agree, also it reminds me of LA To The Moon Tour a lot too. It's kind of a mix between Festival Tour 2016 and LA To The Moon Tour with the dancers & choreo and with the stunning visuals and gorgeous Lana-ish elements PS! Before I made an account here, I used to visit the page and I have always admired you, you're so kind and I have always loved how devotedly you write comments here, with such beautiful vocabulary and thoughts. You're really channelling the Lana energy here!
  11. Last night, I had a really really weird dream about Lana. So, firstly, Lana invited me to her show in an festival (probably Glastonbury) to be one of her dancers to dance for White Mustang's outro. Because Lana found out how much I love the outro. We were in a weird dressing room which was made of glass and we had like million dresses to choose, but we had to choose something. I can't remember what dress I was wearing but I remember that Lana was wearing that flower pattern dress she wore in Rio for Mita Festival. When we went to the stage, there was a stage for the band but for the singers and dancers we had to go down stairs in the middle of the public. The stairs were kinda low and long and there were like 6 stairs or something so we could get to the end part of the stage which located in the very "middle" of the audience. Okay, when we arrived on the real stage, White Mustang started playing and when the outro started playing, Lana, I and the dancers were so confused, we didn't know what to do. And Lana said something like: "Uhh, let's just do what I'm doing". Lana started doing that Dua Lipa dance meme and we started doing that too during the whole long ass outro. When this dance/song ended, I felt like they didn't need me anymore and I didn't know what to do there either. So I went to the dressing room, so I could change my dress because I somehow disliked it and tried on many other dresses there were. Somehow, two of my old friends whom I haven't talked to in years and saw like million years ago, interrupted and walked to the dressing room and they ignored me and started talking to eachother while I was changing the clothes. They somehow left the room idk how. I found a dress I liked - it was a striped polo dress then Lana and her dancers came to the dressing room and she glared at me and said "Where were you? Why did you disappear?" and then I answered "Did the show end? I didn't hear anything." and then Lana answered an arrogant way: "Are you deaf or what? " After that, I can't remember anything, I can't remember what I even answered lol. But idk why I was so impolite and arrogant with her when I left the show. I wouldn't to that irl. Sorry if the text, I wrote, was clunky because the dream itself was very weird and it was very weird to describe too.

  13. Omfg this year we've been fed with great content (compared to the very dry year which was 2022) I love Jon so much, he's a great musician and Candy Necklace is my favorite Lana song from Ocean Blvd (and probably my all-time favorite too), so I can't wait! I yesterday streamed CN like million times and the MV too. I loved his interlude too, so we're getting 100% an amazing song!

I understand. I find L+F more mature too. I actually love I Love You But... song too but I love the production of it. I love rock, I wish she could do a full pure rock album without the pop or electronic elements. But I feel like with Ancient she wanted to appeal the public and the fans more than with L+F (the way how she pushed that album in TikTok with the TikTok playlists ) I kinda have more mercy for L+F because the album came out when I was in a dark place and I related to the album a lot and it helped me to cope with sadness.

Also since this thread came back from the dead and as a long time Marina stan I want to post my unpopular opinion and it's very very VERY controversial and long Love + Fear album > Ancient Dreams album. I know that these albums are definitely not her strongest work but I find Ancient Dreams worse than L+F. When Ancient Dreams was released, it was my new favorite Marina album, I was so hyped and I loved every song on the album, I played it non-stop, especially Venus Fly Trap and the title track. But after a long break of not listening to this album (+ when the deluxe tracks dropped) - I found that album extreamely cringe like that album did not age well for me. The whole album seems so prententious for me now and very forced. In fact it was forced. When Marina saw the hate comments about L+F she did kind of force herself into her "old sound" (because fans wanted her to do it) but in my opinion it didn't really work out well. It sounded more of a "parody" of her old sound imo. Like she has done that disco-rock/dance-rock/electro-pop rock/synth-pop/new wave sound (or whatever it is called) like million times, she could've explored new genres instead, like folk, soul, triphop, soft/psychedelic rock, not redo that electronic sound or oompah-oompah piano songs. And the lyrics have become so awkward and clunky, not only the political songs which sounded like a novelty tracks but the break-up songs were even more awkward. Goodbye used to be my favorite song from Ancient until I relistened to it and realised how cringe it is, it's like a song written by a high-school student for a musical or a play. And I think the same about other break-up songs on the album too The only good song from Ancient Dreams is Highly Emotional People, and I think it's the best song from the album. Love + Fear was also very clunky and awkward in terms of lyrics like for example in No More Suckers and Enjoy Your Life but the album was just lacklustre and boring and lyrically/sonically too simple and plain. It wasn't really that pretentious and awkward as Ancient Dreams was. It was obvious that this album wasn't that strong lyrically/sonically because she had been away from music for few years. I don't think that L+F had a forced sound because it was just the "aftermath" of the environment Marina was living in (her hiatus, her then bf with Clean Bandit and the psychology courses). If the reception from her fans was less harsh and if Covid didn't happen, I think she would have moved on to a whole new level in music, like a new genre and theme. Like when Taylor transitioned from Lover era to Folklore/Evermore. Imo, her holy trinity will forever be her first three albums, because these were a perfect trilogy of her life and her mindset. The concepts of those albums were perfectly executed, especially Electra Heart's which was just brilliant. Now I think she has a writer block or I think she doesn't have anything "fundamental" to write about because everything she wanted to say, was said in The Family Jewels, Electra Heart and Froot. And you can see it in L+F and Ancient Dreams that these two albums are very different from her first three. My favorite album of hers is Froot and song Froot too. I think it's a perfect pop album and perfect pop song. I also think that she's not an alternative artist. She has always been pop for me. Maybe the early era of TFJ was alternative with Mermaid Vs Sailor EP and that's it. I currently prefer her poetry to Ancient Dreams because I think the "awkward political/societal wordiness" looks better in poetry than in songs. I knowww that my opinion I stated here was very very very harsh but it was already very difficult for me to state too because I have loved her music since 2010 and I love Marina herself very much. But this was just my insight and no one obviously doesn't have to take my opinion seriously. I just had to say it and this forum was the best place for it

I know she's not Taylor but in her latest insta post, the location name seems to be a new title or something? "Love Is The Answer"
  17. Euro fans deserve it after the dramatic cancelling of the NFR Tour Euro leg
  18. The Dublin thing was true 😲 where did you get the info from?
  19. Eastern and Central Europe is crying rn 😭
  20. Honestly, I never cared for demos. I never really listen to her demos either. Only maybe The Blackest Day demo for the dramatic sound altho the official version is still better. I don't think it's that deep, it's a matter of taste afterall. Also people like to see it from a objective point too (like which fits better which is written better ect). Also the matter of nostalgia too, some people were really used to TNBAR until she released the updated version on NFR. Also situation can matter too, a lot of her demos leaked in 2020 (LFL title track demos, HM era demos) when the fandom was going through ups and downs and a lot of disappointment (Violet wasn't released in January, Grammy loss, Lana cancelled the tour, Covid shit, Question For The Culture (for some), hate from media, mesh mask, COTCC wasn't realeased in September) - so those demos and other unreleased which leaked were kind of a "solace" during those difficult times. Although, I prefer all of her released songs to the demos (maybe I love the Britrock sound of Thunder demo more than the ballad-y one and I kinda love the rock sound in Pink Champagne too) but I can see why some prefer demo to the official one. Maybe I'm talking some bs but afterall it's a matter of nostalgia and taste. Obviously a lot of her fans are crazy over Ultraviolence, so it's obvious they love Pink Champagne more.

    Olivia Rodrigo

I'm surprised that she's still sticking to her purple aesthetic but can't complain, purple is my favorite color! I loved Sour, so I can't wait for Guts, I hope it has a pop-rock sound like Brutal or Good 4 U but I'd like to see Déjà Vu type sound too, since it's my favorite Olivia song. Or a new sound would be great too! I love how subtly she shows the album titles on the cover arts!
  22. Someone should do a map with all the countries where Lana has toured and the countries she hasn't toured yet. Also how many countries she's performing in this year? USA, UK, Brazil, Canada and Italy right?
