  1. 2 pac, Queen, Diana Ross, guns n roses, grateful dead. None of them ever won a Grammy. I think nominations are a better marker than *wins*.
  2. The grateful dead are arguably the greatest and most influential rock band of all time and they never won a Grammy. "Don't believe the hype." - Flavor Flav
  3. I think they vote based on popularity. I don't really think that she was "snubbed" per say, considering she was given the front and center seat and went in with Taylor and the whole black swan white swan motif. It seems like she was the star of the show all night. The YouTube chat bar was also pretty hilarious. It's clear she tremendously influenced some of the singers who won. To me it seems like she is on top of the world right now. When was the last time I the Grammys where the most popular singer songwriter winner brought up one of the nominees and considered them a legacy influential artist in their speech? Taylor knows how badass she is and so does everyone else. I think that's one of the interesting things about Lana how she is not at the top of the listing yet seems to have such a large reach of influence. She's on another level cuzzo.
  4. If you really felt like Lana was not respected and wanted to poke the bear, you could go on a campaign and sell a 100,000 Justice 4 Lana t shirts with a stencil of Lana like the che guervera t shirts but instead of a communist beret, was a bow, you could make half a million dollars.
  5. "Everything popular, is wrong." - Oscar Wilde I don't think Sylvia Plath or Allen Ginsberg were readily taken up and admired by the populous at the time.
  6. I understand lots of her fans are upset she didn't win, but being nominated so many times and having a front row seat... I mean, here's the deal... She's all over New York and LA billboards right now, her music is exceptionally original and she has deeply inspired those who are winning at the grammys, which more or less seems like a bit of a popularity contest, for their standards. That's understandable. The recording academy aren't exactly the cutting edge of platforming what is the *best* artist, so much, as the most popular. Everyone essentially already understands this to some degree. She had a front and center seat to the grammys. Everyone knows she is extremely influential and I like how she has always skated at the edge of popular music, yet she is streamed more than Micheal Jackson. As far as fashion goes, I'm not exactly Pharell when it comes to fashion, but I thought her looks were killer. Another thing about how Lana is impactful is that she has an original fashion style that she has cultivated. Can you name another artist who has a personal novel fashion style like that? (No seriously) She is definitely on another level. There's really nothing to be upset about. She's killing it right now and everyone knows it.
  7. This is the song John Mayer heard at a party and was blown away and became obsessed with the grateful dead, as they also branched out into country, bluegrass, and ragtime.
  8. Hadn't heard this song, thanks for sharing.

  11. When you need a counter when people bring up the SNL performance. Paul: It doesn't get much better than that. Dave: Can you come by tomorrow night?... How about Monday?...
  12. Moneyball soundtrack. Just enjoy the show. This song and this scene kills me.
  13. This cover of this song written for Britney Spears is so charming and cuts deep.
  14. I've been running on stardust, alone, for so long...
  15. This song has such an elaborate and rich history. It almost feels as though Lana saved it from being forgotten forever. He originally wrote the song for and dedicated it to his daughter. While the older versions seem quite happy, the Nelson version shows the more bluish nature behind the highly optimistic and carefree nature of the song. It's something heartfelt and melancholic to note that the more darker blue aspects of the song, may not have been fully understood at large, until many decades later with Willie Nelsons version.

Poor Henry. I'd imagine right now, he's sitting at some bluesy saloon, staring down at and spinning a half full glass, wondering how on Earth could any man ever deem themselves worthy, of Miss Lana Del Rey; the Queen of Hearts... https://www.instagram.com/p/C2ScKYCt001/?igsh=MXBrdnF4OG1rYXRybA==
