It's such a beautiful song! As a MDM fan I'm happy to hear the loon again haha But idk... the chorus is a bit meh, like the melody isn't clear enough

example to prove my point: the One Pound Fish song reached 28 on the UK charts. Blue Jeans only reached 32. it's not hard to tell which of the two has "better" lyrics.

But its not her fault, its not even her song she's featured on it, you can criticize her when she releases a new album and then if the music is not "progressive" enough for you then fine. But this time its Emile fault.

just because a song gains commercial success does NOT mean it is a "good" song. equally, lack of success does NOT mean it is a "bad" song. quantity and quality are not correlated.

it's just like...such an unprogressive song. i haven't really liked the new songs (BGE, ICF) but at least ICF was a lyrical (and somewhat sonical) progression from previous....it feels like she's become a cliche of herself

I hope that she's not going back to this sound for Honeymoon. The sound is boring "eerie", she will flop commercially and critically with this sound. I hope that this guy will stay as far as possible from Honeymoon. UV sound is superior: CW, UV, WC, SoC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> than this

I really don't like her delivery on the chorus apart from the "i'm lonely" part. It makes me feel uneasy lol
 
I think the production is very jarring with this vocal style, it works well with live instrumentation like on Ultraviolence, but not with this glossy style from Born To Die. The vocals should have have been re recorded

I'm kinda disappointed... I think it's a little boring.

The loon is this kind of 'wind-in-a-tunnel' sound you hear in the intro of Million Dollar Man, for example.

Its an instrument that Emile is known for using a lot and that is all over BTD

imo it's alright, nothing amazing...the production is nice but the lyrics are kinda meh. like Big Eyes and I Can Fly, i don't think it's anything spectacular. eh.

Can someone tell me what "loon" is? At first I thought it was a nickname for emile but now I'm not sure.
Btw love the song! Honeymoon better have a few songs like this.

Wait For Life is like a poppier version of Million Dollar Man. The verse is jazz influenced and the chorus is catchy 90s ballady pop rock.
 
The production on the chorus reminds me of the production Paul Epworth did for Black Beauty very "Stadium" ey sounding idk.

i was really excited to hear that emile produced a new song with lana but when it was officially released and i listened to it on my computer with my headphones on i couldn't help but feel underwhelmed by it however the moment i blasted it in my car it definitely grew on me and the next thing i knew it i couldn't stop listening to it which is something that doesn't happen with uv for me and just reaffirms my love for lana's and emile's work together although for this song i was anticipating the climaxing beat or bass to kick in during the chorus but there is none i miss gangsta nancy sinatra lol
