I'm inclined to think the West Coast radio mix is a good example of "pre-Auerbach" Ultraviolence, along with some bonus tracks that he didn't touch like Guns and Roses and Is This Happiness--in which case, thank god she enlisted him. I think Brooklyn Baby and Sad Girl in particular wouldn't be as good as they are without his touch. Certainly West Coast and even Cruel World. I think any Paradise producer could've done the title track or FMWUTTT though.
