This is definitely going to be released in due time. That's just a very rough demo we did in the studio to get a sketch of the song. I wrote it a few years ago and it's honestly one of the best songs I've ever written. I've delayed doing it for so long because I want it to be really special when we do it. I want it done perfectly. I'm hoping to eventually release it this fall, if all goes well

to everyone saying she's rushing out this release, just because she's talked about the fact that she's making music again doesn't mean we'll even get a new album this year. And if we do, it probably won't be until Oct/Nov/Dec. And then all of you will be begging for it and cursing her name until it comes out hahahhahaa Also, "Black Beauty" is a name for speed. Which is more likely what it's about- not ASAP Rocky...

Lana has ALWAYS worn engagement rings. One of the very first articles I ever read about her (I think in Spin, around September of 2011) the writer talked about how she wore an engagement ring to "ward off men." I can try to find the article, but does anyone else remember this one?

SO. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that Lana's tweet is confirmation on the fact that she IS doing music for the Great Gatsby soundtrack.

I mean, I'm not 100% positive, but I just feel like there is a chance. A pretty good one, especially if she IS working with Mike Will. I think Great Gatsby would be such an amazing fit for this style. Here's the trailer!

But if Jay-Z is the head of the Great Gatsby soundtrack, than what other music would be scored for the films? The trailers featured "No Church in the Wild" by Kanye/Jay-Z. If you've ever seen a Lurhmann film, you know he's all about making unexpected musical choices that end up working SO well in the end.

i mean, perhaps a little, but Lana's been working on soundtracks since the fall and Great Gatsby was originally supposed to come out in the winter, but Lana has confirmed that the films she's writing for will be out this summer. And the Great Gatsby has been rescheduled for the summer. The idea that Lana has been working in the studio on a few songs for a soundtrack since the fall for movies released in the summer is a little strange. Its A LOT of time, unless she's doing the entire soundtrack for a movie- which I don't see happening. EXACTLY! it's been a rumor for quite some time- I'm hardly the first to propose it.

THIS COULD BE FURTHER CONFIRMATION THAT MAYBE LANA ISSSSSSS IN FACT DOING WORK ON THE GREAT GATSBY SOUNDTRACK. Jay-Z is the musical director of that project- but with the hints Lana has dropped and knowing Lurhmann's vision of old time decadence mixed with modern bravado- it's quite possible that Lana has her hands in the mix. Especially if she's working with this producer, who, as many said, has collaborated with Rihanna (Jay's very well known protege). Anyone else collecting these dots?

I would even love homemade videos for the songs that already have grander videos. Born to Die, National Anthem and all those. But if she did all that, I'd really want that to be her focus. Like, to really film scenes for them like she did with Carmen

Okay, I need major sources for this news of a video for Radio and a video for Dark Paradise directed by Woodkid. That would be fucking flawless. I feel like I do remember hearing that- maybe during her interview with Ferne? Maybe I'm just pulling shit out of the sky... idk. Honestly, she should make videos for all of these before she ends Born to Die: - Cola - Dark Paradise - Off to the Races - Radio - American - This Is What Makes Us Girls (I have SO many ideas for this one- a short slasher horror film would be incredible) - Body Electric - Yayo And with her doing so much film work now and perhaps taking time away from planning a third (second?) album, she SHOULD really delve into making videos for these songs. I would actually really be happy if that became a focus for her for a while. Really fleshing out concepts for videos and working on some editing. I'd love homemade versions (like Carmen) for all the songs because i think they offer such an in depth Lana-unique perspective to all her songs. When she makes those videos, they are made of the clips, colors, images, themes that SHE sees in those songs. I think thats amazing. Thats what captivates me about the homemade videos. I think Carmen is my favorite.

I actually quite like the idea of her redoing songs like "Queen of the Gas Station" in a more "Ride" fashion. Honestly, I'd love to see her redo: - Mermaid Motel - Queen of the Gas Station - Kill Kill - Oh Say Can You See - Pawn Shop Blues There's nothing wrong with an artist going back and redoing there own songs.... Like... Regardless of if she were to do them or not- we'd always have the old versions to love and listen to. Redoing them can add whole new perspectives to the songs. And I'd love versions that were more honed to her current more cohesive and sophisticated sound. yeah i said it.

I actually think Burning Desire is quite underrated by fans. But I was listening to it today, and it's actually a really amazing song- and really a VERY different side of Lana than we're used to. It's like... a very dominating side of her that is super powerful and full of yearning.
