HOLY SHIT. I actually didn't even know this existed. I have a playlist of all her live radio performances and this is absolutely a GEM. I didn't know this even happened. Are there any other Paradise songs she did this with (besides Ride). Does anyone else have a playlist of her live radio performances who could help me out?! -

A Poem for Lanaboards y'all are so funny. You want her to be indie, but you want big budget videos. You want her to stay out of the media, but you want a pop album. I don't know. No but seriously... Y'all know this isn't how the industry works, right? She doesn't get to be a hermit writing only for herself and damning chart/sales success and then also get Interscope to bankroll all of her projects (music, music videos, etc). You guys understand that above all else Interscope is a record label aka A CORPORATION that sees it's artist as investments. They are only going to dump money into artists that are churning out projects with big return potential. If Lana isn't doing promo, isn't making a pop album, isn't interested in success-- Interscope is not going to keep shelling out money for her to make videos, to record albums, etc. -

I know Lana hasn't said anything like this herself, but I really wouldn't be surprised if this album was full of her exploring that "hawaiian" sound she likes so much. I would look to the intro of the tour for a cue about maybe what this album would sound like. Perhaps thats what she means by a return to BTD/Paradise-- that it will be her exploring the beach/surf rock sound more. She once described Cola as a surf rock song (??). But yeah, I heard the intro of the tour and immediately thought "This must be what Honeymoon sounds like." And obviously the title lends itself gloriously to this kind of music. -

But I'd be equally happy with all new songs, definitely. I'd love to see that happen. I'm very excited for WHATEVER she does and I'm down for the ride and I can't wait to hear her talk about it and hear where she is in her life at the moment with these new songs. When she released ultraviolence and did the interviews that talked about the album, I related to SO much that she was going through. I was also incredibly sick with a mysterious illness and feeling very insecure about the path my life was taking. I just related to so much of what she said. And I'm excited to do that with this album and see if her and I are on the same page about some things these days still. If that makes sense? It sounds weird, but... I guess there are some people who know what I mean. -

Nah, not the only one. And I definitely would be overjoyed for that. No doubt about it. I'm just saying- there are some songs I'd love to see her do, maybe for my own validation? Like I would love to see that she still loves them as much as I do? Pawn Shop Blues I think is one of her most well-written, lyrical songs. Like, for me, it's on the level of a Chelsea Hotel or The Other Woman. So I just think she should show the world that she can write like that, you know? Idk. Just my thoughts. I guess it comes down to the fact that some of the old unreleased stuff is so high caliber and offers such a great diversity of her as a songwriter and singer and some fans would love to see her do something with those stronger pieces of material because there's so much potential there. -

I really do think that old songs coming back for Honeymoon would kind of be awesome. Not a whole album of them, but a few keys ones. (Pawn Shop Blues tbh) I actually really think if Lana released "Driving In Cars With Boys" as a single right now with a really good video it would actually do significantly well. The production might be tweaked a little or something, but I could see that getting a lot of media attention because of it's unique retro sound (that isn't over saturating the market at the moment) and because I think a lot of reviewers would be shocked by the songs upbeat sound and the lighthearted lyrical content. It's actually fun and I could easily see it really pulling on Lana's "nostalgic" aesthetic but also pushing it forward to this really colorful, happy place that she seems to have hinted at with Honeymoon. Idk... I was just thinking about that today. Side note: I always thought DICWB should have been on Born to Die and that the deluxe should have been Lolita (the original demo), Driving in Cars with Boys, and Lucky Ones (listen to those songs in a row and it's perfect) -
OMG!!! Whaaaaa! no way!! That's so cool! I haven't met anyone from Lanaboards irl yet
-
Also, I don't know if you guys know this but "Peach, Plum, Pear" is a cover by Joanna Newsom.
-
Okay. Cool. Thank you for the clarification. Is anyone seeing her on this upcoming tour? I'm going to DC!
-
Did the album leak?
-
oh! Dope. I'll buy them, but before I do, be real with me. Does she ACTUALLY sing on them, or is it like samples of her voice/does she sing the chorus/have just one verse?
-
Wow. I have been really digging her since Octahate came out and I've been following her releases and what not but I must've fallen off because I missed the new Octahate video and also the Fool video. But omg. Also, I never even thought to come look for a forum for her here but omg I should've all these unreleased songs. They are the shit. Also, what are the BenZel collabs and how can I get them. HALP.

"Life Is Beautiful" - Soundtrack for The Age of Adaline
HunterAshlyn replied to Trash Magic's topic in New Releases
Everyone who's saying this... What are y'all talking about? It has been proved REPEATEDLY that almost every single soundtrack song she's done (except OUAD and Big Eyes) were FOR HER OWN ALBUMS until she pitched them for movies. The demo for Young & Beautiful proves it was created before it was intended for Great Gatsby with the lines about Joplin and rock n' roll and Lana even SAID "I Can Fly" was originally for Honeymoon, but she modified it for Big Eyes. This is probably on her album or was once intended for her album since we have known about this song for like 2-3years? You all screamed and begged for Born To Die 2.0/ Paradise 2.0 and now it sounds like yes Honeymoon will lean in that direction and now you're mad af? Idk... Y'all are so strange to me. -

Also... Being a blues singer is about more than just actually being able to sing. Let's get THAT straight. -
what is the difference between the standard and the deluxe version again? Not new tracks, right?
-
I'm usually not a fan of remixes either, but I definitely don't mean like.. typical remixes. I mean almost like... re-productions/re-works of the songs. Like... keep the integrity of the song's structure and kind of build production around it? Not chop it up and screw it to death and add like 4 minutes of dance breakdowns and shit. Just like rework the songs as electro-pop songs. Does that makes sense? Like... The rumble strips remix of "Back to Black" by Amy Winehouse is an example of what I mean. Or even the many versions of Lolita

Haven't read much of this thread in like 20 pages but... I'm sure someone posted the St. Lucia "FROOT" Remix. And it got me really thinking about how amazing some of the song might be when remixed into electronic tracks. Even tho she's... "soO0o 0v3r" electronica/dance music. I think pulling something like this and dropping it the day the album came out would help increase her sales after the leak and get fans who have the album excited about it again. I think it would actually be really cool if she did a small remix EP OR a deluxe that included 5-6 remixes of certain key songs from the album and called it the MIRACLE FROOT EP or the MIRACLE FROOT edition. It could play with the idea that just like a miracle berry makes you taste fruit differently, these remixes will help you hear the songs differently. Like a twist on the flavors she's assigned to each of the songs on the album. And it would be really cool if she included a single new song (or even just a song that didn't make the album... perhaps the one that she put on instagram over the summer that we all went wild for) and assigned it the Miracle Fruit flavor. 1. New song (Instagram song or "miracle fruit" flavored song) 2. FROOT (St. Lucia Remix) 3. Blue (Remix) 4. Forget (Remix) 5. Better than That (Remix) 6. Savages (Remix) And I'm not even talking about like really generic 9 minute dance remixes. I'm talking like, WELL CRAFTED remixes that incorporate electronica elements or more pop elements. It's just something I was thinking about and curious what you all thought about something like that? It's obviously not gonna happen, but just an idea. If you guys could see people remix these songs, who would you want to see get their hands in on the project?
