Create an Unreleased Lana Album/Playlist
HunterAshlyn replied to PrettyBaby's topic in Lana Thoughts
I haven't posted a new playlist in SO long, but as many of you know, one of my favorite things about Lana's music is fan's ability to make really amazing playlists that go on a journey- sonically, musically, cinematically, etc. So, here's the playlist I've just made since Tropico. It's a long one- a megaplaylist if you will. It's not necessarily meant to be heard all the way through, but it does flow really well if I may say so myself while showing off many sides of Lana's writing and sonic development. TROPICO PARADISE PLAYLIST 1. Blue Velvet 2. Born to Die 3. Blue Jeans 4. Burning Desire 5. Without You 6. Young and Beautiful 7. This Is What Makes Us Girls 8. Genesis 1:2/Intro (Tropico) 9. Radio 10. Angels Forever, Forever Angels 11. Paradise Lost (Tropico LA Monologue) 12. Juicy Lolita (Biggie/Lana Mashup) 13. Lolita (Original Demo) 14. Driving In Cars With Boys 15. Lucky Ones 16. Young and Beautiful (DH Orchestra Version) 24. I Sing the Body Electric (Tropico) 25. Body Electric 26. Lolita 27. Dark Paradise 28. Hollywood 29. You Can Be the Boss 30. Diet Mountain Dew (Demo) 31. Hundred Dollar Bill 32. My Bitch (Ft. ASAP Rocky) 33. Dayglo Reflection (Ft. Lana Del Rey) 34. Gods and Monsters 35. Diet Mountain Dew 36. Unbelievable Man (Biggie/Lana) 37. Bel Air 38. Bob Leone talks about Lana, Gaga & "So Legit"
HunterAshlyn replied to lola's topic in New Interviews
this guy sounds like a sad sack- a hanger on. Everyone who has grievances with her success always uses her "transformation" into Gaga as this monumental moment where she became "a different human being." It's all bullshit. She's a hard-working singer songwriter from new york who busts her ass off and has tried to make music for YEARS and YEARS because it was her only dream. This guy sounds like somebody who's unable to take responsibility. There are NO victims in this industry except for talented artists who get jerked around by labels/managers/producers. Artists works get stollen all the time- and then when an artist FINALLY makes it- 10,000 "mentors," "ex-managers," "ghost writers," etc come out of the WOOD WORK to try to take a piece of credit for someone else's hard work and success. Give me a fucking break. -
i love the song. But the video could've been a tad more interesting. I love the editing so much- but just wish the new parts were a little more.... finale worthy.

We're figuring out how we'll distribute it now, but i will make sure you can get it!

It's done. It's a single and bside. I don't want to give a date yet just because I don't want to disappoint you. But before the summer is over.

I'm about to release my best work by far. I CANNOT WAIT FOR YOU TO HEAR IT AND BE ABLE TO ENJOY IT IN YOUR OWN TIME.

Lana Del Rey Officially Announces TROPICO, "Coming to a City Near You"
HunterAshlyn replied to Sitar's topic in New Releases
I might consider going to NY, Phily, or DC if she debuts it there. I doubt she'll do it in Baltimore, although I truly wish she would. -
What kind of holy conclusion to a post.
-
personally my thoughts on the whole thing after reflecting on both Gaga and Lana's EERILY SIMILAR career paths is that Lana's attitude and perspective must be drastically different now than it was when she wrote this song. If she still feels this way- there is a serious lack of self-awareness on this issue. Take out the gaga references and this could be any girl from that same scene writing about Lana now.
