is it really worth it to get a transparent and grey vinyl for $72 + shipping + a possible UO variant after I got 2 of the red vinyls -
Chemtrails Over The Country Club

I know it's been an on off topic on here about Lana wanting kids, and honestly the lyrics on COCC seem really personal and seemingly about Sean. Lyrics like "kids' swimming pools / coffee at the elementary schools" I'm guessing she's talking about spending time with Sean's kids (or any of the children of her friends because his kids are like in their 20s now lol). it makes me sad for her -
also I completely respect people's opinions on the VB music video and even I disliked it at first because it basically is lazy lol. after watching it while tripping though, i really understood the emotion and nostalgia that both the song and MV convey. it reminds me when the 'West Coast Official Audio' video was released on Youtube for the first time that just shows a loop of Lana spinning in a circle - I always thought it really matched with the audio! both videos feel like a thought loop that's actually comforting. as you can see from my sig i do really love the (few) visuals she provides, especially the seeing the black and white sunlight from under the trees. i might be a bit biased because the video does show vintage san francisco footage and i'm from there - it gave me a new appreciation of that part of the city that i never really had before.

i've definitely warmed up to the cover, especially after seeing the MV. i definitely see it as a slice of life. she looks really, really happy in the cover and the fact that she doesn't put herself as the center of focus shows how much she wants her friends and family to be a part of this project. i do wish it was a bit more polished but i guess that defeats the purpose of the message it's supposed to convey.

thank the lord i didn't buy the official lp yet jasdkhsjdnaskjd -
I know a lot of people say NFR is her most un-Lana album but honestly the most un-Lana album for me really has to be LFL (and honestly I still love most of it!) I feel like songs like Cherry, WM, and 13 Beaches touch Lana-isms in a more superficial way. Maybe it's the crazy amount of reverb in her voice? The actual lyrics/sounds themselves? Songs like IMF, Coachella, Summer Bummer (even regarding Ridin'), and even Change feel really different from her previous discography for me. While I do feel like NFR does expand on some aspects from LFL, mainly the singer/songwriter aspect of Change/TNC, and is different from her other established works, it honestly does still feel more Lana than LFL for me (but tbh, I feel like most works post-UV depart from what BtD/UV set for her tbh). Even then, I GREATLY appreciate that songs like Get Free and Heroin weren't afraid to break free from this mold and create their own legacies and pathways in her discography.

imo GBA is a pretty top tier Lana song, wish it (and the second half of LFL tbh) was loved more!

the only thing I can see lana uploading on IG rn is news footage with her making absolutely no commentary lol. nothing COCC related but I don't think it would be in good taste do that anyways -
honestly yeah, I literally don't understand why it feels like I have to go through hoops on here to explain to others why I like this album (especially when it seems like the majority of LB users heavily dislike it when outsiders criticize Lana in any other way) I get not liking it but calling people tasteless or whatever for liking it feels so weird when personal opinions, emotions, etc obviously exist and I basically said this on the NFR thread, but I agree that the simplicity of NFR's lyrics make the album more relatable to me. Of course I love all her albums but her earlier works had a lot more of these Lana-isms and an over the top nature that I can appreciate and enjoy but definitely relate less with.

NFR is such a comforting album for me. I used to get high a lot (lol) and it was such a great album to ground me back to reality if I got too anxious. A lot of people make fun of her lyrical choices in some songs (usually single lines from VB's verses, Love Song, HIAB, Hope, etc) but honestly their simplicity makes the album a lot more relatable for me compared to her more previous works. My favorite albums rotate between either UV or NFR a lot, but I honestly think it just depends on my current headspace. UV comforts me by allowing me to dwell in my turbulent feelings while NFR comforts me with its warmth and introspective nature because the album for me is a story of bitterness to apathy to acceptance. I do think some things could be changed (taking TNBAR out completely, HtD should've been a piano ballad with strings!, bridges) but I feel the same with all her albums tbh.

tbf I just read the interview (maybe it’s not the same one?) and I didn’t really discern “really safe, serene, and fun in my personal life and music” as something that is not up to her standards. to me it seems like she wants her music and life in general to be like that - especially after living what I would imagine to be a very unstable life. I feel like she wants her music to be a safe place for her to connect with and lose herself in without any worries. Right after that she says she wants her music to be deeper and smarter, so idk. Or maybe I’m just reading it wrong lol

is the Party 4 U 2017 version on dbree just an edit?? It sounds really, really good thank you to whoever made it!!

even though LFL isn’t particularly my favorite, it’s so sentimental for me. Even the songs I don’t like bring back so many memories of 2017 that I can’t help but feel nostalgic listening to them.

yup. it used to be my top song. it's a classic in her discography but she's made a lot more emotionally striking songs since
