Some of these new lyrics definitely gives an idea of what the song is about. It does sound like she’s talking to a child, maybe a niece? In any case, it’s such a sweet song. I always thought the “swing it hot, cherry blossom, on your sycamore tree” line from the Insta vid made zero sense. But with the line actually being, “I push you high, cherry blossom, on your sycamore tree,” she’s probably talking about how she was literally pushing the kid on a swing

Just listened to the album in full, wow I liked it a lot more than I was expecting. Fear is a lot more melodically interesting. Although I did get 5th grade banquet vibes from some of the songs, they’re still catchy Don’t think she made this record trying to make her next best album, you can tell she’s just having fun with the music To Be Human Literally anhilayedu

I wonder if Worth It or Water Under the Bridge are any good

Aw although I agree that the production is a bit stale, it doesn’t take away from the fact that she wrote a lot of the songs from a more mature standpoint. And that’s always really wholesome to me. I don’t think the writing is her best but most of the songs are pretty solid/listenable. With artists like Marina and Lana, I’ve come to appreciate their newer stuff without focusing too much on whether they’ve turned a new leaf artistically/musically and moreso on the fact that they’re writing from a happier place. Though I commend Marina for still putting actual effort into her releases

I’m stoned and this song is truly in the top of Lana’s discography I always thought the production never felt fully realized. It has such a spacey vibe and I think it could’ve had a few more sound effects that make it sound more detailed But wow adding the timer sound was masterful. Makes it sounds like the song is straight outta a movie like Requiem for a Dream where the character is having a hallucination or something
