Vimeo told me this was embedded here and got about 25 clicks from users here, but I couldn't quite find it on the forum. (Damn, it's huge. And damn, how have I not known of its existence?) If anybody can link me to that spot, that'd be awesome - but I also just wanted to start a thread for it. I've never done a video essay, but I plan on doing more (I'm currently putting some together for the films of Sofia Coppola, John Carpenter, Eric Rohmer, Don Hertzfeldt, and other filmmakers). It says something about my thoughts for Del Rey when I put her up with names such as them. Thought other Lana fans would appreciate what I think about her and such.

Oh, and hi new frequent forum I shall visit!

I think during the BTD era her record label was kind of controlling her and dressing her and making her wear stupid things, then eventually she stopped going along with it. I love 2015 dgaf Lana, truly one of the least materialistic celebs out there.

When I see Lana stans on Instagram (not to generalize, I know that not all are like this), it makes me want to puke. Thinking they are Lolita, saying things like 'I love older men !!! Daddy !! xx" and acting like Lana. Writing like her, dressing like her, having her nails like her, liking the same she likes, being literally her. Dear God, I've seen a lot of underage girls saying things like ''I want to date an older man so bad mmm daddy'' AND I'M LIKE WTF GIRL WTF ¿?¿¿? Some fans should buy a personality, really. And a brain too.

I don't know, but I don't like the way Lana describes little girls with older man. She should say something, like, if you're underage, this isn't right.

I don't understand the appeal of The Blackest Day

I like to think she's getting older and giving less of a fuck just like me. Late twenties ftw

She'll do interpretive dances to songs via periscope and they'll delete after 24 hours

I think one of the issues with Lana is that sometimes in music videos you can almost tell that she feels silly or uncomfortable

    depends....

the ultraviolence video was free. she just walked around while being filmed on an iphone. she did eat that orange though, that prob cost 50 cents. plus petrol to drive to the outdoor area they filmed in, prob cost around 2o bucks.
so the ultraviolence video cost $20.50 x

edit- if lana and FJM toured together i would quit my job, sell a kidney or an eyeball (what? i only need one to see), and go to every show. i once drove 650 miles just to see one qotsa show, it was worth it.

  13. altpapa liked a post in a topic by thatsomason in Tomorrow Lana's got a surprise for us!!!
I feel like it's definitely some sort of video involving honeymoon, otherwise why would she post it on @@HONEYMOON with the camera emoji?

QT is on the cover, most likely to talk about hateful eight, and what he will be doing now that he claims he doesn't want to make any more films, Lana will most likely have a separate article in the magazine, because I can't see Rolling Stone missing the opportunity to monopolize on the Lana X QT factor, if indeed they were in the midsts of collaborating.

I can see Lana announcing tour dates or another film project of her own. Maybe the Paradise Tour footage is finally out of post production..
  15. altpapa liked a post in a topic by Wynwood in Tomorrow Lana's got a surprise for us!!!
i think the suprise could be a tropico like film but directed by terentino. probably will have 3 songs from HM like tropico had. lana did say she went for a noir type of feel to the album and Tarantino is known for his neo-noir vibes
  16. altpapa liked a post in a topic by theeternalstars in Tomorrow Lana's got a surprise for us!!!
In all seriousness, whatever surprise she decides to do tomorrow, it better be actually something being released and not just an announcement or teaser that attention seekers/China palace can milk and exploit for months until she finally decides to release something. I will be very very surprised if I am not bitterly disappointed.

inb4 this is just another way for Lana to add more disappointment to our miserable, drained, promo-less lives

The Tarantino stuff is so far fetched, he's on the cover of the magazine but that's it.
Maybe it''s an interview or tour announcements or maybe she'll finally release the HM video. I would LOVE a proper music video, but I guess we should keep out expectations as low as possible.

well that was a trip from beginning to end. Not that I expected any less.

Same and it's a shame cuz its ending is one of the best moments in the Honeymoon album and probably in Lana's discography. It's missing a little spark in the verses' instrumental.
  25. altpapa liked a post in a topic by analwinterofmylife in Reasons Why Honeymoon Is a Great Album
I really don't understand anyone actually hating or bashing honeymoon.. While it its not as high paced, overproduced, and dramatic as born to die/para and not as edgy as ultraviolence, the album is still great quality, vocally good, and imo was very unique in mixing the "muddy trap vibes" with some low-key jazz stuff in there.. so far this era has kinda seemed almost as if a layed back project type thing for lana.. she didn't seem too concerned with bonus materials or marketing she just enjoyed making something she loves.. which(even if u don't like the music) deserves respect.

Honeymoon sort of falls between the excitingness of born to die, and the edgier more alternative vibes of uv... which kinda feels awkward but.. it doesn't make the music itself any less valid. I feel like.. i sort of just wish that she had backed the album up visually a bit more .. but #typicallana
