drewlwhite 1,260 Posted May 9, 2023 Hi, so a friend just released his debut EP that we worked on for the past seven months. It's a concept album about the aftermaths of a bad breakup, with each song representing one of the stages of grief (ik they're 5 but whatever): Denial, Reaction, Anger and Acceptance. The visual theme of the neon liminal spaces was picked as a reference to the psychological meaning of "transitory states of mind that can be frightening". I curated the graphics aspect of the project (with every song having a cover tied to it's meaning) as well as writing a good 75% of it all since this was my thesis project and also inspired by a tough breakup I went through as we worked on it. Like Make You Cry is the last written close to mixing deadline so we had to come up with somt real quick, I wrote 99% myself and it ended up being one of the lyrics i'm most proud of. Glitter Boy 16,208 Posted July 27, 2023 I've been re-recording my previous records (as my third album is coming in October) and here's a new version of this little EP I did at the end of last year, featuring new vocals, remastered production and 3 new tracks. It's basically a little preview of what the 3rd album was going to sound like before I changed direction and cut all these tracks off. In case you give it a listen, I hope you like it! Also, Storms Within is one of the songs I'm the most proud of so I'm happy y'all get to hear it even if it was cut from the upcoming record.
