american teenager, hard times, gibson girl, family tree, and strangers were all fairly catchy to me.. that's more than 1/3rd of her last album.. to go from that to every song being this long conceptual thing is just jarring for me  she knows she could've thrown in a fun one for the kids.. she just wants to be different and doesn't want a tiktok hit imo (which she maybe wouldn't even get anyways bc it's getting BANNED in ten days apparently)

the next album will probably have the songs you want again, but this one is more of an interlude, an experimental 'EP' with ambient and drone music

this is so stupid lol. Why on earth would anyone have a “tiktok” hit? Lmao. Most artists don’t have TikTok hits in their albums. Like what are you even saying.

and second of all: if you think perverts is long, you'll have a heart attack listening to any swans album from the 2010s or half of the albums in natural snow buildings discography. ur acting like she said the n word talking about defending her for releasing the music she wants to 💀

if you wish to dive deeper in the genre i can give you some recs! drone music is kinda art in some ways. Natural Snow Buildings and Boris are great examples of this, they do the music live from scratch, thats the art of drone.

i'm not really sure what you're trying to say here considering those aren't successful bands in the slightest.. like you have less of a point than a fucking circle 😭 one of them has 8,000 monthly listeners (and dreadful music) and the other, while they do tour, only perform in small venues (and also have dreadful music)
