Oh yes, I definitely understand that. I appreciate both aspects, but at least with past eras it felt more like... Idk how to say it without seeming rude, but it felt like she at least cared a little bit more. I obviously have no place to say how Lana feels, but this one just feels like "Okay I'm releasing this just to release it" so far... I very much am happy that we are getting high budget music videos at least!

Also not to mention the songs released thus far are very different from each other in terms of how I personally liked them. LMLYAW is her worst song in her discography and such a stain on everything Lana related, so thats making this album feel... meh to me already since I am going into it with a "Please don't sound like LMLYAW" attitude. Whereas Chemtrails is a very sweet song and my personal favorite title track from her, but I still have my doubts. I am not very into folk music and this is her folk album I guess, but I'm keeping an open mind as much as I can.

Right now it's just... "Oh it's almost March 19th, that's cool" vibe

I get that! I personally love LMLYLAW, and I love folk/country music so I get the personal taste coming into play here, but in terms of the excitement - I think these times are just weird in general and so everyone’s feeling a bit wonky about everything right now. I  wrote something on the last page about how we’re feeling and maybe Lana is feeling that right now too. I don’t want to put words in her mouth either, but I feel like she’s said in her own way, that, like all of us, she’s been affected by this pandemic. We know Lana is quite perceptive and really responds to her environment so maybe there are things that are affecting how she’s doing things in her life, namely navigating this album campaign. It probably feels a bit treacherous to do things when the public has tore you to shreds.

I understand everyone’s concerns and hopefully that passion and excitement is reinvigorated as we get closer to the 19th! <3

I remember when idiotic stans during the NFR era thought the black narcissist lyric was a reference to Azealia Banks and she made a comment like "this is why I don't participate in the culture" or something along those lines. I think with the crazy reaction to qftc and her other posts, she probably just wants to release music and go. Like Fiona Apple. I don't mind that approach tbh, but it's sad to see esp considering how much she used to interact with us.

People just need to stop hyperanalyzing everything she says tbh. She has said some questionable things in the past couple years, but there is literally nothing malicious about her approach.

I feel like that will ultimately push her away from the spotlight, like you said.

I agree. Some stans also think everything she says is a reference to pop culture, fame, drama, drugs or alcohol, as if she didn't have a past, personal life or intimate feelings as just a human being.

stan culture is bad for the art and the artist

I really think she’s about to go hard on promo in the finals week or so... I don’t see how she wouldn’t. Like her management and the label seriously will not let her not do any promo. Unheard of.

Manifesting a post tonight at a weird hour where we aren’t expecting it!

I have no doubt in my mind she could totally just drop this album on the 19th without saying a word tbh

Alright who’s the sacrificial Walmart twink getting her hands on the new record early

Note: I don’t advocate for this but we all know it’s gonna happen. Valid in participating Walmart’s. See official rules and regulations on slimytwink.com/rules. No purchase necessary.

Where's that energy we had back in June, July, August, and September?

I feel like we all need to be reminded of how much fun we had getting up to various antics, such as analyzing the source code of her website (and finding nothing), making album cover/tracklist/vinyl concepts, discussing what the 'chemtrails' will symbolize, theorizing how Chemtrails and Behind the Iron Gates would be connected to each other, contacting so many different retailers and making frenemies like Shanice and Shanique...

That was the Golden Age of this pre-release and as far as I'm concerned, we're still in the pre-release! Let's look back on the fun we had leading up to this record's release and reinject that energy into this thread!

14 days! :thankyou:

Also I really don’t think Lana would be releasing an album she wasn’t proud of. She clearly has no problem not releasing albums she says she’s going to, so if she IS submitting one and releasing it and making videos of it, you know it’s going to be a serve.

Facts. She wouldn't release it if she didn't feel it was ready. That's part of why we get so many of her albums later than expected, anyway. She's always tampering and editing, and takes forever on mixing.

this seems off topic but it's not i swear i have a point :rip:

Spoiler

but i think the gp completely forget she had a life before BTD. she wasn't 19 when she got famous and straight out of high school. she had lived experiences in between and it's really easy for the gp to slate her as immediately becoming successful, not having to work hard, not understanding non-celebrity life, because she did become successful relatively quickly – after years and years of performing, writing, and trying to become successful and actually make a liveable wage through music.

i'm excited to see her reflect on that period of her life and the life she lived in between high school and her music career, the entirety of her lizzy days, and learning to play guitar, living in a trailer park, working as a waitress, going through college, learning about herself and to hear her further process extremely difficult things she went through during that time. just because i feel it so much. and hopefully it'll remind the gp that she's lived a life outside of being a celebrity.

anyways idk what i'm talking about :makeup2: who's excited for digital deluxe track dealer

I don't that's it. I think people just didn't believe her.

I’m still hoping WD doesn’t come out til album release date and is pushed as a single then. Maybe along with TJF as a dual single. I think it’s the best way to build hype for the album that’ll actually translate to album streams and therefore sales. For the most part, the people who were going to pre order the album have done so already and what we need now is to focus on streaming. By having the song and video come out on release day it’ll build hype for streaming the song and since it’s the opener people will hopefully keep listening. The next song is COCC which is a beauty and then TJF should be freaky cool enough and it’ll draw people in!
