Well, if you see the posts here from 2020 (when she first teased the PTP demo snippet) you can see MANY comments saying how the song has many TFJ vibes, which people loved.

I consider that PTP shares some of elements of TFJ (or not just TFJ, but something particular from Marina's lyricism) as lyrically, it is totally unafraid and frank. Lyrics don't have a single direction, can be straightfoward and it's just Marina letting shit out, something that she's known for, but of course, she made it politically this time.

Marina did the same with Girls, which lyrically is also frank and expressive, and while I can understand why songs like these aren't it for everyone, you can just tell that it's Marina being unreserved again. That's it.

my theory is it's either coming out globally after the listening party on radiohead (2pm PT/5pm ET) or we have to wait until July when the vinyls are released she put a snippet up on her instagram stories and she's updated the production, so I'm hoping it's the former.

Are you comparing a metatextual reflection on Lana’s own career where she responds and expands upon her own narrative (it’s not about having someone to love me anymore this is the experience of being an American whore) to anything Marina has done in the last 8 years? I disagree. She released a good album in 2021, went on tour, released a tenth anniversary for EH (which, unsurprisingly, wasn't totally well-received) and a poetry book (it's up to you whether you like it or nah). Marina has done some (subjective) nice things in the last years.

I can understand how you feel with the tenth anniversary of FROOT. Just releasing INHA and a vinyl feels nice but also meh. She promised something very special for this anniversary so it's a bit disappointing. Yet, I also can understand that "at least she did something" thingy because many artists don't do anything when their albums turn 10. It sucks, because you don't know whether to be thankful or disappointed, but I'm glad INHA is getting released. 

And finally, yes, it's not normal the fact her fandom is so negative, and while I do agree Marina has done some shit that deserved its criticism (L+F, unfulfilled promises, being a mess on the internet), I feel like Marina has been stuck in her 2013 Lady Gaga era since L+F, which sucks because I can't imagine myself being hated just because it's popular to do so. I still think that her fans haven't been satisfied and have tried to find flaws in all she's done so far, and it feels negative without any necessity.

Yes, I do think that the quality of Lana's writing has changed and taken out of context some of her words may sound silly. Lenin's body lying dead there

I think you’re misunderstanding the situation. The problem people have has never been that Marina’s new music’s not deep, it’s that it’s not good. People like fun silly songs. People don’t like bad songs.

I mean everybody’s lyrics can sound silly if out of context ? What’s the point. When you go listen to A&W you actually realize it’s really deep and touching though… unlike to be human which is the most shallow and surface level shit ever released

anyways...i'm gonna write a long emotional essay because this album changed my life. 

 

happy 10th anniversary to froot which is besides being my favorite marina album also one of my favorite albums of all time. i also think it's marina's best album. the concept was simply genius, i have never seen an album rollout as perfect as froot's, that froot of the month campaign looked so fun and i really wish i had rediscovered her earlier, so i could witness this amazing era from the start. 

 

i love the lyrics of the album, i really resonate with some of the songs on the album like happy, forget and solitaire, the whole album played a huge role in my teenage years. i love how the lyrics are told, they're simple, nothing extravagant (maybe some songs have some over the top camp lyrics like froot and savages but they're tastefully done), but they carry a lot of meaning for me. just so beautiful and sophisticated, there's some marina color to it which adds its own unique spark in it.

 

the production is so incredible as well. also i was today years old when i found out that the guy who played drums in almost every track of the album is the drummer of the cure band. i love how the songs were recorded live. i find the sound on most songs unique, like i have never heard a song similar to froot, gold, solitaire, can't pin me down. it's this perfect blend of pop music, rock music, alternative music, new wave, synth-pop and electro-pop. i love all the details on the production, i love all the glittering/sparkling sounds on the tracks like gold or froot. froot is also my favorite marina song of all time, it's such a playful take on disco music, making it sound like a music from a pixel video game.

 

everything about this album was so creatively done. i adore every track from this album. the music videos are so stunning, froot, i'm a ruin and blue are some of my all time favorite marina videos, the visuals are so gorgeous, especially froot's. she also had the best merch from this era which i think is the best merch i have seen from any artist. the photoshoot is also gorgeous, i loved the art direction marina and charlotte rutherford went. the photos are so glossy but stylish. she looks stunning on the album cover - which is also my favorite album cover of hers. i love the colorful light on her hair. and neon nature tour is the best tour concept ever, amazing costumes, amazing band, amazing vocals, amazing setlist. the concept of different era chapter acts was amazing. it was something i manifested for the eras tour and i'm happy it was executed that way.

 

i'm not hungry anymore is also one of my all-time favorite marina songs, one of her best songs ever. i love everything about it, the lyrics, the vocal production and the instrumentals, it's so close to my heart, it's so captivating and gets better with each listen, today i listened to this song many times and i'm happy that it was re-released on vinyl, i hope she releases on streaming as well!

 

a brilliant timeless album, this album has aged like fine wine, an album i have loved from the start.
