this is fascinating thank you for sharing!! come to think of it, even now we see her in a lot of the same clothes, shoes etc and of course the infamous iphone  i vaguely remember some kind of live laugh love type bedroom wall decor in that one video she posted (the 'god bless and fuck off' video) which feels super on brand for her atm. it's adorable bc i get it - when you're like 22 all that sickly sweet sentimental '40 year old mom core' stuff is like ewwww cringe.... but then you get a little older, settle down a bit more and you're like you know what maybe i DO want that anchor-shaped photo frame that has "you hold me down in stormy seas" written underneath it in cursive to put a picture of my husband inside  can't wait for her minions-posting facebook mom arc

After Lana marrying a violent transphobe, racist, and MAGA supporter, I look at her differently. I look at her in a way I should always have. I love her music and art. I genuinely thought she was a good person. But I don't think she is anymore. I should not have treated her the way I did, being uncritical and not separating her art from who she is as a person. So her and her husband being trash actually had a silver lining in that I'm not naive about artists anymore.

But isn't that the kind of relationship she's always sung about, at least since Ultraviolence? In Ride, she was into patriotic rockers. She always had a soft spot for Americana, then possibly also for patriots, Republicans and MAGA supporters.

Outside of her music, she claimed to support the LGBT community, she claimed to oppose Trump, she claimed both IRL and in song to support BLM, and all that goes for abortion and other issues. Then she married a racist Trump supporter who hates all of those things and wants to violently attack trans women. And when she saw people talk about it, she instead asked people not to and begged fan pages not to address it. Instead of openly responding or affirming she heard us or talked to him or something, she wanted to do PR and do it in a horrible way. I realize now that her commentary on social issues are either lies or completely self-serving and that's it.

that doesn't have to be mutually exclusive, maybe she's trying to fix him...

I don't care. She knew who he was and chose that. But even if she chose him, she could have said something to that effect but she didn't. Instead she scrambled to keep her fans from talking about it bc that's all she cared about. 

 

If that's his only motivation, he's still a transphobe. And Lana enabled that.
