It's not a cop out, I don't like them, trust them or believe them and I won't vote for people I know wouldn't do anything I want them to do so I don't do it.

I wouldn't live there or take part in what they do.

How easy it would be to just up and move your whole family. Once again, I don’t agree with anything the Israeli government is doing, but there is innocent people on both sides of this.

We as Americans easily can just get on the internet and talk about how we wouldn’t partake in any of it while living across the world and not actively experiencing any of it. It’s the same thing people say about if Trump becomes president they will just move somewhere else, do you realize how privileged you’d be to actually be able to do something like that? It’s not something the average person can just do

I just know I personally would never live there or join their military, im not into Religion and Nationalism and never have been.

Anyone can actually just move and theres no privilege in it, you just need to do it and you'd need to start from the bottom wherever you go but you don't need anything to do it. People take the risk and do it every day and have done since forever.

Did anyone watch that?

I've watched most of it so far im about 2 hours 20 minutes in and he seems fine to me although he's not really said anything interesting, just been talking the whole time about random stuff and political things but nothing that funny or interesting. It's not an interview or anything just two guys talking really.

Only interesting thing he said really was when he debated Biden he thinks they did that so they could get rid of Biden early as they knew he wasn't fit for it and would look bad, he said they asked him to have the debate sitting down with no crowd and mics cut off and he didn't want to but ended up agreeing but only if they could stand up, he said right up till the end they were trying to force it to have them sit at desks. Crazy how a guy running a country cannot even stand up for a debate as he's too old :thumb3:

It's not really worth watching for entertainment or any actual poltical stuff being spoken about but I wondered how he would look being like 80 and talking for 3 hours but he's barely shut up and still seems sharp mentally.

it's been interesting seeing a few of these politicians go on podcasts this year. Trump is a charismatic person which is a big reason he has such a loyal fanbase so going on these podcasts is a great move for him (not that he made much sense)

People forget what he actually stands for and these podcasts humanize him which is concerning to me. He loves to yap and claim all these things but people forget what he would actually do as a president vs what he says he will do.

so I'm gonna post my question again:

how should we vote if we don't like any of the candidates but wanna do the least amount of harm possible?

I completely understand your dilemma. it's hard voting for someone you don't stand for. I think ultimately you are the only one who knows who you should vote for.

I don't think most people on the left would pick Kamala if they could choose anyone to run as the Democratic Nominee. In this election & at this point, a third party is not going to win and that's just the reality. It is a Trump vs not Trump election, once again. I know a lot of people in a similar situation as you, they absolutely hate trump but also don't really like Kamala mostly due to her stances on Israel/Palestine. Since I'm in California, a lot of people don't think their votes matter since it will always end up being blue, but I still think it's important to vote on a state/local level. Kamala wouldn't be my first choice if it were up to me, but I think almost any candidate in the Democratic Party is exponentially better than Trump even if I don't really like them. I get how morally it is hard to choose between the two especially considering both of their stances on the genocide in Palestine. Since we are forced to choose between the two, I don't believe Trump would handle the genocide any better than Kamala. There's a reason Netanyahu wants  Trump to win so that's important to keep in mind when voting.

Ultimately, one day it would be nice to have more choices than dems vs republicans on the ballot that actually have a chance at becoming president. I do think you should vote third party, dem, or whatever just because I think local and state topics are also just as important because they directly impact you and your community.

If you do vote third party, I could see how that sends a message to our country. Lots of people are fed up with the 2 party system. I just don't believe this election is the right time to do that since we have so much at stake at the moment. Our nation needs to push for these 3rd party nominees earlier in the election and by that I mean 2025-early 2027 if people want them to have any chance at winning. Pushing for 3rd party candidates months/weeks before an election is next to impossible.

If I could tell any voter who doesn't know who they want to vote for this election specifically, my best advice is: think where your vote is going and where it isn't going. It's up to you at the end of the day

Also i did the early vote thing earlier this week. I was surprised to see how many Candidate's names were on the ballot and not just available as a write in. At least in Wisconsin there was the Justice for All party (Cornell West) and the We The People party (JFK jr) even though he dropped out and endorsed Trump a while ago.

Who'd you vote for? (kidding, you don't have to say unless you want to.)

Most of the progressive candidates (Cornel, Claudia, the Andrew Yang party dude) were thrown off my state's ballot and it annoys me. Democrats target people who aren't Democrat bc they know they'd lose without it. I'm voting for a mixture of Green, Democrat, and Forward Party members. (Idk who to vote for the Presidential option though.)

this is a genuine question and i have not formulated this question so bare with, but i have seen quite a large number of people saying they wont vote for kamala purely for her stance on palestine, and that they would rather not vote.

i’m just curious as to how much people are basing their US election vote on the situation in another country? i’m genuinely interested to see users' thoughts on how actual domestic policy (abortion, taxes, other VERY important issues) is impacting who they are voting for. in my mind, i would rather vote for kamala based on domestic issues, get trump out, then deal with other stuff when we sort our own shite out, if that makes any sense?

in an election like this, a TP vote can be (for lack of a better term) a bit of a throwaway in SOME areas (i think i don’t fully get US politics), so would a big two candidate be better to tackle the evil of trump? i feel like if the vote is split on the left, which is looking very likely, trump will unfortunately win

i’m not downplaying the importance of tackling global issues, but i just want to see your thoughts on global vs dometic issues and how they change your vote/what is more important

perhaps it may sound dumb/uninformed but my main reason for voting for kamala harris is reproductive/women's rights, i honestly don't know much about economy, foreign policy, immigration, stuff like that, so maybe i'm not very informed, but making sure my rights are secured as a woman is important to me, and is important for all women and girls

I voted for Kamala Cabello. I wouldn’t mind voting third party but since Wisconsin is a swing state i figured it’s more important to do anything possible to secure a Kamala victory to beat Trump

I don't know if I qualify for this question bc my desire to not vote Kamala has multiple reasons behind it but:

I don't want to vote for her because her foreign policy stances tell me she basically wants WW3 by picking fights or joining in proxy wars that we don't need to engage in. Also, I oppose the expansion of NATO (and NATO itself tbh). I read about a lot of the evil shit America and NATO has done and just can't get behind that.

(for anyone who wants to debate me about NATO: I have hella books and sources about the horrible shit it's done.)

My other post was mainly in response about the genocide since it’s big reason why they don’t want to vote for Kamala. Obviously it’s something to think about and keep in mind,  but at the same time I agree there’s tons of other issues at stake in our own country. Not to say the genocide isn’t important, but I don’t think that should be the only reason someone decides to not vote. The decisions we make here impact the rest of the world so it is something to think about. I don’t want to sound selfish, but there’s many issues in the USA we need to address and prioritize. I don’t agree with Kamala’s stance in the genocide, but there’s other topics I do agree with like being pro choice. Way more views of hers I agree with vs trump’s stances so it’s an obvious pick for me. If she loses, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the reason she lost so it’s unfortunate. I see both perspectives of people on the left and wanting to make a statement but people also need to be realistic here we have two choices and need to think about our own issues in the USA. This is one of if not the most important election ever in our country so this is not the right time to vote for someone who doesn’t have a chance or choose to not vote. Especially if you’re in a swing state it is crucial, decisions trump makes can have an impact for many years in the future.

i think this is the sort of thing i was gunning toward. i saw ALOT of this in our own (UK) general election, and alot of my own friends were basing their vote off of who had the best stance on palestine, ignoring nearly every single domestic issue the parties were promising on their manifestos. to me, it’s quite concerning that really important issues seem to be placed on the backburner and there is no prioritisation of deprived people in their own states (among other issues like abortion, wealth inequality, student debt, etc) . i don’t want this to come off as saying the issues in palestine are insignificant, as they most certainly are not, but splitting the vote is an extremely dangerous game and only helps trump. this election is globally significant, and it would be devastating to see another trump term which would be arguably worse for the palestinian people regardless
