I wish we'd pull everything from Israel but that will never happen. It doesn't matter who is president,  they'll always get their money.

Mine had both. It had a democrat club as well, which was equally popular but i think only had one man in it. We also had an anime club 💀

The US has no business in a lot of stuff, but has nevertheless interfered in many parts of the world. They always withdraw when there is nothing more to gain, see Afghanistan, and then leave a huge vacuum behind.

it may sound twisted, but i almost hope he will, since it'll be an insanely unpopular choice to anyone with a conscience, it would make him look so bad

this is wild to me because in California, I barely know anyone who's on the right. there's a good amount that are center and some that are center right, but those who lean more right here typically identify more with "socially left and fiscally right" rather than full on maga cult hive mind. a lot of the right wing younger people are usually... judged here  I think the full on maga people here are typically old people.

 

the people here were beyond shocked to see how the rest of the country voted because here, almost no-one likes trump. I saw some trump signs and flag around election time, but most  are somewhere on the left of the political spectrum here. my dad is on the right, but he's deff not full on maga (although I still  frequently get in arguments w him on politics) it's crazy how different it is here vs other parts of the country.

 

there are cities and parts of CA that are more red (most of them are central California which is the middle of nowhere and mostly farm towns), but even the red cities aren't all right wing. the catholic church I grew up going to with my mother (who is on the left even pro-choice yet very catholic) is pretty accepting of all kinds of people. they disagree with the current presidential administration and always call them out for not helping those in need and discrimination. im deff grateful to live here.

 

Californians are always welcoming of anyone who shares the same values, yall can come here

He doesn't need that to make him look bad. He's already done so much shit in a month that made him look worse than ever before.

Exactly.

As I said elsewhere a few days ago, the US has very much promoted - for a very long time - the notion that they are the world's referee, and you cannot spend decades shaping and upholding that (many times via violence) only to take it away within a few weeks or months.

This is precisely why Donald is so dangerous. It's okay for him to say "we won't be doing this going forward" and "other countries need to spend more on defence" but you can't just suddenly pull the plug and not expect utter chaos as a result. This is not in the best interest of Americans. Maybe it wouldn't affect Americans directly (at least not initially) but if the rest of the world descends into a shitshow, it absolutely does affect every person on the planet, including Americans.

Emboldening Putin means emboldening others who may seek to invade other countries or to otherwise do people harm. If people like Putin are reassured that the US will not act to stop them, then there is no deterrent. This is about so much more than Ukraine.

I don't know if he doesn't understand this or if he just doesn't care because he's a 78 year old narcissist.
