Copenhagen Zoo euthanizes young giraffe, feeds him to the lions

 

NBC News: Denmark’s Copenhagen Zoo has euthanized an unwanted young giraffe named Marius to avoid in-breeding, igniting protests from animal rights groups who have criticized the zoo’s decision.

After euthanizing him with a bolt gun, the zoo fed him to the lions.

Actually, the zoo was just prohibiting European law. I do think it's a flaw none the less, but it's a legal issue rather than a tragic decision made by the Zoo.

Does your mother move you to a Zoo when no one wants you? I hear good things about Dublin Zoo so you'd fit right in 

? Giving an animal/child a way is a bit more humane than killing it.

 

Also, I don't get why this is big news, I thought this was common practice (not that I condone it).
