TheKingofHorror 42 Posted May 30, 2014 I think Gods and Monsters is one of her saddest songs. I mean it sounds like if that's true all those lyrics that she went through a lot of shit. In the land of gods and monsters I was an angel living in the garden of evil. Screwed up scared doing anything that I needed shining like a firey beacon. You're got the medicine I need. Fame, liquor, love give it to me slowly. Well obviously she was out there basically doing anyting she could to become a star I think in LA right? And the song just gets darker from there. It's like she's battling to hold onto herself to hold onto who she is in the crazy situation she gives into the addictions and the favors but, she refuses to let herself slip completely into it. I'm glad that it at least seems like she's living a normal life now and I hope she is. If you didn't realize this before this song is a seriously dark and almost wrong song that it's so dark. I love it though. It's like she's sharing a piece of her soul with everyone it's really personally and I hope more like it are on Ultraviolence (Well there's Ultraviolence itself but, more as well).

Venice Jesus Whore 4,471 Posted June 8, 2014 Ride imo but that could be because I relate to it so well. It just sounds depressing to me plus the fact that she's saying she's so lonely, left out, misunderstood, and doesn't know what to do in her situation that all she can do is ride. 1 Quote It’s not about having someone to love me anymore This is the experience of being an American whore

stadiumarcadium 137 Posted June 12, 2014 Blue Jeans has a lot of meaning to me. I get sad listening to it but it's also one of my fave Lana songs ever. Her cover of Goodbye Kiss has managed to make me cry at times too. Pawn Shop Blues - 'nuff said. Chelsea Hotel - the melody and the lyrics and just everything. "That's it, I don't even think of you that often".. Pride and Gramma. Ofc Hollywood's Dead, oh my. Velvet Crowbar!! I guess these songs would make a pretty saddening playlist for me. 1 Quote ☆ ☆ whitelines-prettybaby-tattoos.tumblr.com ☆ ☆

MaterialDiamond 106 Posted June 12, 2014 I agree Old Money is really sad, but Pretty When You Cry is soo sad too. "I'll wait for you, babe, that's all I do, babe Don't come through, babe, you never do" "Don't say you need me when You're leaving, you leave again"
GodBlessMe 2,141 Posted June 12, 2014 Is This Happiness must be the saddest song ever. I'm crying while listening to it. I'm afraid to sleep because I might get nightmares. I have never ever heard a song that made me feel this way. 4 Quote I AM MY ONLY GOD

MotelHoney 306 Posted June 12, 2014 Is this Happiness is what I'm listening to right now :S You can't get sadder than "Is this... happiness?" And the tune/piano sounds extremely familiar.. I've heard it before.
Thunder Revenant 20,950 Posted June 12, 2014 Old Money - it's not actually a very sad song, but listening to the lyrics about her talking about fading youth and everything ,,, really makes me sad. Pretty When You Cry is also veeery depressing and somehow I always consider Body Electric as a very sad song. Idc what the "official" interpretation is, but for me it's like she describes being alone. And I also find Is This happiness kind of depressing. 0 Quote Just do it. Just do it - don't wait! yayoop 4,606 Posted June 13, 2014 All of Ultraviolence...... I've discovered that my favourite song off UV is now "Pretty When You Cry" .. i love all of UV but this is the song i have had on repeat since i listened to the album. I also personally think it's probably her saddest song. The desperation in her voice and the child like way she sings, i don't know... It's put me in a really somber/depressed mood so i can't imagine what happened to her that influenced her to create this song. But that's just me 1 Quote " />
erink4te 81 Posted June 14, 2014 pin up galore, pawn shop blues and carmen make me want to crawl up into a ball and cry for days, but they're beautiful then axl rose husband, trash and mermaid motel are almost disturbing (i don't know how to put it?????????), make me feel kinda numb, they're the kinda songs i listen to late at night in total darkness and then get scared hahah but they're all amazing and touching and i love them to bits

Her phrasing in that song sounds so vulnerable and broken. It's like you can hear the pain she is in
