Honeymoon - Pre-Release and Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Morning everyone hope you're having a beautiful day. Album is up for pre-order today. Happy for you to hear some of my favourite songs from it soon. I think 'honeymoon' is the most beautiful one but 'terrence loves you' and 'God knows I tried' are incredibly close to my heart. Freak is also very sexy.

Its $40...I think I'm gonna wait to buy the UO one. Since I already ordered the regular version

If it's $40 in the states it's probably $50+ here  :deadbanana:

Mañana Mañana fuck off

but is Lana Spanish or Mexican? that I've failed to deduct

Isn't her persona and name inspiration Cuban? See 'west coast' and she's talked about it in an interview before. Something about a friend in Miami and Del Rey sounded so Cuban.

She can be Cuban but I hope she isn't a Communist

I fall off my chair from shock every time I see a positive comment, seriously some of you guys are vicious  :hdu:

Okay, I get why you could dislike the cover. She's really tiny and it's definitely a change of style compared to the previous covers. However, I appreciate that she has chosen a different perspective this time, the "looking poutily into the camera" shit was getting kinda repetitive imo though it wouldn't hurt if you could actually see her in the picturePersonally I also really like the text on the truck which y'all seem to hate, I don't really know why but it gives the cover more ~personality~ or whatever you wanna call it.

Most importantly I love the way she's been promoting this album, especially the glimpses of the process she's shared on the honeymoon account and the GENIUS Honeymoon Hotline which is so funny, innovative and just adorable. It all feels so personal and I'm really happy that she's actually involving us this time, something I have missed in the previous releases. She really seems to care about this album, and that makes me look forward to it so much more than when she acts all indifferent.

I can't really say much about the songs we've gotten so far because I've only listened to them once, but I definitely liked Honeymoon and High By the Beach instantly. Terrence Loves You almost had me in tears at first listen and I can actually see it becoming one of my favorite Lana songs ever.

Sorry if I'm being overly positive and delusional but I can't help it, I'm simply beyond hyped for this album.

  • Of her stage name, she has told us: "I wanted a name I could shape the music toward. I was going to Miami quite a lot at the time, speaking a lot of Spanish with my friends from Cuba - Lana Del Rey reminded us of the glamour of the seaside. It sounded gorgeous coming off the tip of the tongue."

I don't know why everyone is so negative towards the album cover because I think Lana chose it witg purpose. We got the Honeymoon Hotline from it which just makes it amazing right there, but even more than that with number 3 and 4 in the hotline you can tell Lana wants to take us on a tour of the stars. The music of this album has all been very mystical so far from my pov, and I can't wait to hear the metaphysical Burnt Norton in album quality instead of just over the phone. I feel like all her descriptions of surrealism, and future retro are tying together. And what if her song titled Religion is actually about space? I listened to the Origins of the Universe lecture and it had got me thinking... Either way I have loved all three songs I've heard and I think this may turn out to be my favorite album. Knowing Lana so clearly loves it too gets me even more excited.

He loves me with every beat of his cocaine heart.
