i love gone & white mercedes don't get me wrong but xcx world is just a better album

honestly in my head the way i count her albums/projects is kinda weird

so TR & sucker being 1 and 2 is normal
then vroom vroom & xcx world are collectively xcx 3
number 1 angel & pop 2 are collectively xcx 4
charli is xcx 5, hifn is xcx 6 & crash is xcx 7

so her upcoming album feels more like xcx8 than xcx6 to me personally

It’s time we start recognizing that N1A and Pop 2 are albums and were only released as mixtapes for creative freedom. N1A the true XCX3! 

(this discussion has been run into the ground but there’s nothing else to discuss so might as well bring it up again and loop into album rankings after!)

yes yes yes i’ve been saying this for yeearrss!!!!! Charli is just the less hot version of Pop 2. even if the songs are cute on their own, the album as a full will always be BAD especially compared to the og XCX3 that was a conceptual pop record.

 

but i get her, you know? album was leaked all over the internet, producers unpaid, label mad as hell, questionable haircut… she had once chance to make the era die and that’s what she did.

kinda love how you can tell what era it is based on her hair:

- true romance: very messy with the occasional purple hair extensions
- sucker: loose curls
- vroom vroom / xcx world / n1a: straight & long
- pop 2 / droplet: undyed bob, kinda messy
- self-titled: dip-dyed bob, slightly cleaner cut
- HIFN: medium-length, almost always unstyled & tied back
- crash: big & poofy
