Okay, just throwing this out there about Ultraviolence. 
 
She sings about "Jim", and the natural conclusion is to jump to Jimmy Gnecco. HOWEVER, in the french magazine interview she referred to Barrie as James, which is his middle name. Which means, the Jim she sings about in Ultraviolence, COULD be Barrie as a James could be nick named Jim. I might be completely off, but it's just a thought. 

Cola, BB, WC, And SOC are all about Barrie. I'm sure there are more songs about him too on Ultra.
 
Also, I don't think Ultraviolence is an old song--I think it's relatively newer (definitely post-BTD), so she has to have a reason for putting it on the album. Not only that, but making it the title track! I think it's about being haunted and surrounded by the former love of her life (Jimmy, who is on tour with her). How that must feel? It must be strange seeing those old strong emotions going no where, and so as to respect the former relationship, she doesn't want to just let them did. But at the same time, she is in a stable relationship with Barrie. How must this contradiction of emotions between two people feel? Ultraviolent.
 
It's ultraviolent to be touring around with the person she used to love, especially while she's in another relationship.
It's Ultraviolent to love someone with depression (Barrie).
It's Ultraviolent to be misunderstood, mistaken, and lied about (in terms of her career launching off from a bad SNL performance and a preconceived notion of who she is that most people mistakenly have for her).
It's Ultraviolent wanting to live a wild, crazy and free lifestyle while being in the public eye (aka sacrificing some of who she is in offer to fulfill others' expectations).
It's Ultraviolent to fear failure after putting so much work and effort into something--fearing that it won't be appreciated like she wants it to be.
 
I think that all together, THAT is what Ultraviolence is.

I was ready to pay 3,000.00 to meet this woman in Austin for ACL fest in October, but realized that having to be homeless (or legit moving into a trailer park) because I decided to meet Lana instead of paying 2 months of my rent was not in my best interest (sadly). That said, she better come on tour again because that shit was magical. 

Haha awesome! And yes I did! I loved every min of it! I wasn't too far away from the stage but i wasn't as close as I wanted to be either. I still had a great time though. She did amazing. I was kinda annoyed it took her awhile to come on stage but when she said she wasn't feeling well beforehand it made much more sense.

I KNEW she had connections with Delray Beach! My mom and aunt went to rehab in Delray and there is a huge rehab community there. I remember visiting the rehab bungalows that are set really close to the beach. When I first started reading about Lana and her story, my initial thought was "she must have visited Delray once or twice for the rehab community and it sparked her name inspiration," especially when I found out how much time she had spent in Miami. The whole thing makes sense to me now.....wonder who the ex boyfriend was....
