It seems like some of you guys care more about her publicity and sales than the music.

You guys are what? 16-25 year old people telling a grown professional woman who has been in the industry for years how she should live her career? You are fans, not managers.

This is so true i feel like crying
Do ppl even SEE how much happier she is since Honeymoon?

She has recorded over 200 songs. Hardly a waste.

Like I've mentioned before, she has recorded over 200 songs, hardly a waste if you ask me. She has used her talent well considering she's still young.
Beyoncé is a different person from Lana, you have to remember that. Yeah, Beyoncé does shit ton to promote herself but it doesn't mean Lana has to do the same, let the girl do what she wants whichever way she feels best. I think at the height of her career during BTD she was pretty depressed because of all the attention so it's understandable if that has put her off from promoting herself today,

not only do we need to trust her decisions more, we need to respect them. she may have all this potential/talent but i'm pretty sure she's doing exactly what she wants and that's all that really matters.

Just because she's not getting the fame and attention she used to doesn't mean her talent is going to waste. Lana has the potentional to do whatever she wants whether it be performing in stadiums or little concert halls. I think we all need to trust her desicions more...

She's an album artist not a singles artist btd sold more than almost every top artist out there as an album because it's not a regurgitated piece of crap
Also that cigarette smoking photo is one of my favourite lana images of all time it's so simplistic and noir

tbh I think that would be kind of tasteless given the current political climate, unless she makes it obvious that it's ironic

You guys always find something to complain or be worried about. The era has barely started. Why can't you just be excited and trust that Lana has something amazing coming

yeah lana loves her high budget videos but about half of her videos were homemade with her iphone, her sister does most of her shoots now, she records with the same producers (which are her friends), she doesnt perform on tv, she doesnt do interviews with popular magazines, etc.

shes practically indie, she just needs to switch to a different label

I'd rather have an indie sound than a more pop-ish album.

Some more guitar/indie-rockish driven stuff would be great for Lana. She always nails it live. And I think a collab with Miles could actually end up in a very promising way.

so she can lose all credibility and become a pop princess no thanks

The thought of Lana going indie kind of scares me. Lana puts her heart and soul and vision into her records, but she seems done with them the minute they get mastered, which is understandable, but not good for promotion. If she goes indie, the most we could hope for would be two or three 30-second Instagram clips of her dancing in her kitchen to the new songs and one random festival date in Switzerland or something, where 90% of the setlist is from Born To Die.
I think what Lana needs is a TEAM of people (not just Ben) who not only give a f uck about her music, but who have a precise understanding of how the changing music industry works and know how to market HER as an artist.
Right now is kind of a crossroad because it is pretty clear that Lana does not enjoy extensive travel or promo, and the last two records she made were not exactly radio friendly (or at least not as much as BTD), so labels are less likely to invest in a lot of promotion, but if they continue down that path, it's just going to be a cycle of her getting less exposure, and the labels having less money to invest in her the next time around.
She is a unique artist and I wish they would capitalize/work with this more than they do. I know it didn't really go over that well, but I still like the idea (though maybe not the actual execution) of the Honeymoon hotline. Or what Frank Ocean did with pop up shops, or Katy Perry's listening stations. Something that is still mysterious and a little different from normal marketing strategies, but draws more attention to the new release and gives fans a way to connect further with her. If her team could figure out ways to integrate her personality and preferences into the marketing (something that brings some exposure without her having to be there all the time or leave the house even), it could possibly help turn things around a bit.
Another idea could be if Lana was willing to invest her own money into the videos and photo shoots (if she doesn't do this already, but I'm assuming she doesn't), that could give her her team a wider budget to work with for marketing. Though that may not work, because I could quickly see Lana reverting back to her Lizzy Grant/VG and original Blue Jeans-style of videos, which isn't bad, but I want to see her grow.
Okay sorry, I'm going on a rant now.

I don't care about sales too, but I do wish for more people to appreciate her art and listen to her songs.

Wouldn't it be better to let the thread die (in case there is nothing good to contribute) instead of getting out of the topic and filling the thread with tons of pages, making it more difficult to read everything when something important is announced?

Honeymoon is her most diverse album since AKA in terms of production. They're right. BTD has the same damn production throughout the whole thing lmao. It's frustrating even. #banEmile2017

bops are great, but it doesnt need to be upbeat or fast paced to be good... i mean born to die was good album, but it was super overproduced and a lot of the songs sounded too similar to each other, or had similar instrumentals, because the production style was so limited. i would rather have something slow and calmer like a honeymoon 2.0 if its overall more mature than a bunch of songs that are only good because i can dance to them

You guys are so dramatic. Lana Del Rey is not Lorde, Katy perry or lady Gaga. She is NOT going to be some radio queen and some worldwide fame whore who sings on every award show and is on every tv show. Either get used to it or move on. Jesus.

Lana will continue to slay everyone with her music and sell out tours REGARDLESS of being played on radio or any of this other mess you seem to be so concerned about.

She's an indie artist. Get used to it or stan Lorde.

Such dellusion yall lmao. Let her be. I'm kind of disappointed about Love's "promo plan" but maybe the leak changed stuff. We don't know what's to come though, and we don't have the record yet, so let's look forward to that. And I don't think 99% of this forum wishes for her to remain a marina-like artist, not even in the hayday of the UV era were most people calling for that. Most of us want her to succeed. And even if it was true, how come her team takes us seriously ? We're like, 200 people on this forum. Her "hardcore" fanbase irl is way bigger than that, and they always buy her tickets and scream ceaselessly during her shows. Although Ben & his pals could learn about some interesting aspects of their job from members on here, we don't matter in the grand scheme of things. Moving on !

Didn't Lana say in the IG livestream that the record has some retro futuristic vibe to it? So there's maybe a good chance that the space aesthetic isn't just a thing she used for "Love".

Omg can we go like one day without people getting petty and insulting other singers? If you don't like another singer then don't listen to them? Some people get so damn nasty to anyone that isn't Lana, as if just because someone makes different music, makes more 'pop' sounding music, or is more successful than Lana they're automatically a label puppet with no talent? Grow up and get over yourselves.
