I don't really like Cheryl Cole's image now. It's colourful, motley and... isn't pretty. I can't find any feeling behind it, it's fun and that's it. But can't a pop hit be good as well? Anyway, I got this thread here because hmmm, I think Cheryl Cole was sorta pre-Lana singer in my life. I used to find "Parachute" video retro, well, I got such an association. Her chocolate hair. Importance of relationships. Being a kind of girl I'd like to make friends with. After having confessed that I'll just say I would never expect Cheryl to be forever the way she was in 2009. Needed to develop her music one way or another. I just wish she'd chosen some other direction.

The most stupid part of Y&B is IMO: The two lines made so only because they rhyme ("body"-"party"). At least it sounds so to me. Can't put it into right words but many lines in this song sound as if she didn't care about how they suit each other, deciding to write absolutely whatever. And I'm probably the only and most awkward one to perceive it like this... But I dislike the "diamonds in the sky" thing (with an exception of its use in "Cola", maybe because that song is well-written on the whole). This metaphore is silly IMO. I mean, what diamonds in the sky? In the sky there are STARS which can be shining LIKE DIAMENTS. I just find it going too far and although you know what she means by that, it isn't good. So I think it's good she used it without "in the sky".

Overall rating: 5/5 First impression: Felt disturbed by the beginning with her "bitter" voice. Liked when it was "sweeter". Especially "Light of my life, fire of my loins" parts. Impression now: The song is damn gorgous! iTunes plays: I've got no possibility to count how many times I've played it, sadly... Songs I play along with it: "Born To Die", "Lolita" What I like about it: Its lyrics, Lana's voice, the storyline, beautiful musical background, her feelings she put into it. What I dislike about it: I said what I USED to dislike. Now there is no such thing. Memories I associate with this song: Holidays spent with my parents. Colors/images that come to mind: Green. Well? "3 Words" album is good and "3 Words" song is my favorite track of it. I've just refreshed the CD, listened to it and I admit I love it. And I don't wanna be like "grass was greener back then" and so on but sorry, I have to... When I accidentely ('cause I'd lost any interest in Cheryl) came across "Call My Name", I wasn't supposing it was her, after some time I got to know. My point was, IMHO her current music is like any "cool pop" radio shit. Like in "Ghetto Baby", there's no artistic conception (wow, that sounds sophisticated; I like sophisticated words), it's just done to be "sexy". I'm pretty sure she could've made something better out of it, especially having a song with such good lyrics.

She would not. Her image is said to be controversial, though (I know, you can call me Captain Obvious...) but that is about things she does. If she were ugly, she would've had no chance to become a mainstream pop singer.

Hm, you are right. To my surprise the song has grown on me and I can't recall what I meant about a week ago ^^' . The lyrics are quite natural Lana ones.
