I finally just finished watching Hotel after never getting past episode 4. It's probably my second least favourite season (before Roanoke), but I still think its okay. Lady Gaga is phenomenal. (on a side note, unrelated to this thread, I watched her Netflix movie/doc, and it was amazing) Anyway, Murder House did the ghosts a lot better than Hotel, but I do like the aesthetics of Hotel.

When all this shit first started happening, I remember seeing a lot of comments from people (on insta and youtube) recommending new artists to listen to instead, and I was like COOL, but then I saw people replying that it wasnt the right time to promote artists when this was serious and very sensitive to rape victims, and I agreed, but I feel like now it should be okay? I also want to make a recommendation to those fans who liked the creepy lyrical side of Melanie, and also the music-box sounds. I've been listening to this band called The Birthday Massacre for 8 years now and they still remain a favourite. They are the reason I liked Melanies music in the first place cause Melanie was like a pop version of their songs. Their genre is synth-rock/electronic rock but they are much more diverse than that imo. 100% Agree with Honeymoon! My first listen was after midnight through headphones and I was kinda like 'um okay? this might sound better tomorrow', but then it did sound better, and better, and better, and better. It will always be the album I go back to. I STILL think I haven't heard everything that's on Honeymoon- all the layering and sounds that Lana is so proud of. I pick up new sounds every now and then though. I feel like Honeymoon has the most interesting style because we could slow down all the instrumentals and hear things we never heard, that slip by too fast, we can just pick out SO much, it's really a master piece.

Okay, more has happened, I'm late, but my vow has been lifted! At this point, I am wayyy less worked up about Melanie Martinez than I was 5 days ago. Tbh, before this started, I was kind of looking for a reason to not like her because all along I was unsure of her personality and her motives in her personal life (kinda like my opinion on Halsey as well). As someone who is totally aware of how damaging and undermined abuse is in society, I automatically sided with Timothy Heller and I won't regret that. No matter what the truth is, I think Timothy's statements were important to show just how messed up society still is when dealing with victims, and I am still proud that I wasn't part of the problem that doubted her from the start. NOW, since new statements have come out from both (well, a statement from Melanie and regular tweets/snapchat stories from Timothy), I am still aware that Melanie could be the emotionally manipulative and selfish person I always thought she could be, but I am also aware that Timothy may have messed up her initial statement. Either way, I agree that they had a toxic friendship and I am glad that they are no longer friends. I still stand with Timothy as I completely understand that trauma messes with your precise memory (it's happened to me too. I struggle to re-encounter my own traumas because of trying to push them away and would probably fuck up the timeline more than Timothy did tbh, if I tried to make a statement). So yeah, I'm over it, and since none of the two are willing to take their case further yet or do it professionally, I am not going to let this cloud my vision anymore. I still will never spend a single cent on Melanie and her music ever again. Ima illegally download that shit, if it's even decent, and I am not re-stanning someone like her. I just don't like her, k.

Look, you skeptics sure as hell are very lucky that you have not experienced a mental illness or sexual abuse that helps you understand this case. But maybe stop misusing your good luck to assume that everyone else should be as ignorant as you. Would they like to come forward? I guess not, maybe cause not very many exist, or maybe it's just the 13 year old stans that are too young to know how important standing with the victim is instead of their idol

Unfortunately (but actually good in this case) social media has a major impact on most people's careers, whether theyre famous or not. There could still be more to come that will destroy her too, we never know. Yeah the only thing the reports are talking about is our reaction as (mostly) ex fans, but it has had a huge impact. International news headlines based around the tweets and instagram comments of mostly 12-25 year olds is a big deal! As for her instagram, that part of what you say is true. I watched that live counting thing for like 20 seconds and it went up and down constantly. I saw up to like 20 people follow her in the span of 1 second, and then maybe 30 unfollow her. It's pretty steady. Lots of activity but shes not losing a large amount of followers.... That being said, I think most people just dont want to unfollow her because they wanna see what she keeps posting to keep trying to spot more clues or just see how she takes this hit in general. I unfollowed and unsubbed on everything but ngl, I am still going to be curious
