  1. It feels crazy to think that it was less than two years ago that we were in the just-about-to-be-released period for Honeymoon. Feels like such a long and different time ago.
  2. My favorite part. It makes me think of driving fast in a dark desert or something.
  3. I had this small, horrible feeling when she started talking about Yosemite during all her interviews and saying it was her favorite track that it was going to be the one song that wouldn't end up on the record at all.
  4. I hate when artists pander like that. There is a big difference between singing about themes/stories/struggles communities face, giving time or attention to causes, or being an advocate in some way vs. being manipulative and assuming the community you are trying to target is too dense to see that you clearly only value their coins and not anything about them or their reality.
  5. Lana sounds like a full-time youtube creator in her latest story.
  6. It's cool to see her that happy.
  7. I might like this when the full thing premieres.
  8. The era of hearing Lana's new album 30 seconds at a time.
  9. She probably isn't, but I would still love to hear regardless.
  10. Honestly probably wouldn't have as much of a problem with CWIMM if I didn't hear that beautiful snippet she posted in the woods, the one that caused me to fantasize about how the finished track would sound, something a little dark but pensive and emotional. It felt like it could have been a mature ballad about fame and politics, her changing ambitions from trying to cement herself as a legend to being more aware of the world around her, spirituality and what that means to her, being both hopeful and feeling kind of helpless about all the chaos in the world, etc. It just felt like there were a lot of place she could have taken it--and she has come through in the past with being able to invoke a lot of different ideas/images while tying everything together in a cohesive whole. Instead, way too much of it is about Father John Misty's set, the words to birds thing feels well-intentioned but kind of an easy cop out when trying to address complicated real world issues, the production is a mess for the most part and doesn't seem to even be going along with the song and melody, and she sounds incredibly bored when singing the majority of the track. And yes, that style of singing has worked a lot in the past when it felt deliberate and added extra layers to the story on the song, sometimes almost feeling like a commentary on modern life/her subject matters, but here it just feels like she was over it before they hit record. That being said, writing about politics in songs is a very hard thing to get right, and I do think she genuinely was being sincere (as opposed to just following the "woke" trend that is kind of happening in pop culture right now), and it's cool she wants to branch out, but that doesn't mean she is exempt from any criticism.
  11. When I first started listening to it, I was just expecting a simple piano ballad. Didn't expect the production/vocals/video to go that way, but a cool surprise. Happy that she's back and finally has this record coming out. I remember when so much shit around this case was going on, people not believing her and thinking she was faking it just to get out of her contract, evidence being overruled, the worry from others that she might have just ended her career by placing everything in a permanent state of limbo, etc. And now here she is, on the other side of all that bullshit. I really hope she gets a lot of support for this project and comes back strong.
  12. Stevie: You went from Born to Die to Lust for Life, which is quite a statement. What changed? Lana: Found some fat cock, Stevie, that's what.
  13. That first photo outside is effortlessly beautiful, but the cover looks like she was just chilling in paris looking beautiful when a fan came up and was like "hey, can i take a pic?" and she was like "sure fam go for it."
  14. eh. I "like" Noir because I don't think I have ever heard her sound so furious in a track before and it is cool to see that side of her/wonder how she could bring aspects of that out in future recordings. But in terms of like, play count, I've really only listened to it maybe twice. And that's enough lol.
  15. Total classic. Sometimes I wonder how much differently things would be now promotion-wise/career-wise if this had been her SNL performance instead.
  16. aww. nice to see her out, looking like she's having a good time.
  17. Anyone else feel she has a bit of an accent in the video that is really hard to place?
  18. ho. ly. shit it sounds dark, it sounds mysterious, it sounds FRESH and like nothing else she has ever done while still feeling like a lana del rey song, it makes great use of her more chilled out vocals she's had for a while. This is not the song I was expecting.
