What bothers my about Florence's song is that it could be awesome but on her belting high notes she's just a tad out of tune, always sharp or flat, and that drives me INSANE. can't deal. maybe I just have oversensitive ears but it kills the song for me

Sometimes I like to think that she's giving off that "vulnerable girl" vibe as a parody, an ironic way to criticize women's roles in relationships... but then I realize that's just me overthinking everything

Ok I think I might have been a bit unclear. I'm not calling her anti-feminist. I think that not all of the time, but sometimes, her lyrics talked about how much she needed a man, how dependent she was on men, etc. I completely respect her right to do whatever she wants artistically and this doesn't make me lose respect for her in any way. Don't want to come off in the wrong way but sometimes she sang purposefully high pitched and cute, making her sound younger, girly, almost weak? This is part of what makes me feel like she doesn't stand up for herself so much as a woman in her music. Just my personal opinion you don't have to agree with me, I posted it in "unpopular lana opinions" for a reason haha

don't like summer wine. at all. i've listened to it twice and don't plan to again and i'm not a super-feminist or something but it sometimes really annoys me how much lana degrades herself and women in general in her older music. Especially when she sings in a really high voice just to sound vulnerable and cute.... I know it's in irony some of the time, but I just can't stand it to a certain extent, in songs like Dangerous Girl. it just annoys me, like, give yourself some credit girl! Are you trying to erase all the progress women have made in society in the past fifty years?

I would totally support Oh Say Can You See being Lana-ified... A stripped-down Dark Paradise might actually make it a half-worthwhile track... who knows...

when your heart starts racing whenever the name "lana" comes up in real life conversation having your friends ignore you because you can't stop talking about lana slutty dancing alone in your room to mermaid motel saying cola instead of coke and having everyone look at you strangely wanting be friends with anyone named elizabeth/lana/lizzy/may rocking back and forth in your room and sobbing because you're not at the paradise tour reading lana's favorite books/poems or listening to her favorite music and thinking SHE HAS FELT THE EXACT SAME WAY AS I DO RIGHT NOW having a lana pun/reference at the ready for basically anything anyone says ever quoting lana lyrics and laughing because you're so funny but then no one else understands you

i've tried listening to ok computer plenty of times, but I just find it so slow I can't make it through. is this a common problem? the only song that really clicks with me is subterranean homesick alien.

This song has a message that you don't get often in lana's songs: education and having your own life is more important than having a husband/boyfriend. Not saying that her songs usually have bad messages but i'm proud of her for this song
