I think it does sometimes because the popularity of yaoi (sp?) but I'm saying that the hypocrisy is annoying. A lot of them seem to think women are lesbians for their sexual gratification and are only doing things to work guys up. It's really sexist and annoying. Then, upon seeing gay guys they claim it's not 'natural' but natural is thinking every woman is here to please you? I kid you not, I've heard a guy say that "no women are lesbians, they just need a good D". No. How about live and let live. How others live their lives (and who they are attracted to) should be of no concern to you really..

A lot of hetero men don't seem to mind lesbians but kick up a huge fuss about gay men..That really annoys me.

It's fact women are paid less when they do the same jobs as men do; and that's everywhere. A lot of men don't do their jobs well, but still get paid more than women. I agree with MARU though on that subject. I don't expect her to be Simone De Bouvier or Andrea Dworkin but it's pretty disheartening [personally] that she doesn't have anything to say about that. I agree with you too, Antonia that she should definitely be grateful of her education and opportunities she's had. Many people in the world can only wish for an education.

Like someone else said on this thread..we all love Lana and Lana's music but that doesn't mean we always have to like her or what she says. She's not immune to criticism. What does "professional feminists" mean? I was personally a bit surprised that Lana said that and hope it's not entirely true/taken out of context [in her other interviews] because it's not 100% true women are in a good place in the world.. I completely disagree with you there. There is tons of criticism from European countries towards her also (people posted on their status updates about the press in countries making up that she allegedly has backing tracks of applause and fans screaming ??). I think the US contains the most Lana fans. Some people there knew Lana before she was Lana, went to see her play in NY etc, so I'm not sure where you're getting that idea from that she 'can't go back to America' because that's just not true. Her American fans are begging her for a US tour?

ONTD makes anyone and anyone's quotes look bad though. I don't think a lot of them like Lana and will use anything as ammo against her tbh.

Good points actually. She sings about God in some songs like she believes in religion but in others (say, G&D she says 'Me and God we don't get along') so maybe she does either have some sort of split personality or she's not being herself in that interview. No ones business of course but if she writes about it songs...and then says what she writes is auto-biographical..it's natural some people will question what she's even on about..

She did that during the concert in London also, because she can't hear things in her ear. I don't think it's a case of her being bossy. She would have to yell cause the audience is so loud? Idk..

I agree with you peeps that are saying she doesn't owe anyone anything or an explanation of her life etc. I think people are just talking about her attitude towards things like America and seems to be forgetting most of her fans are from there and they made her what they are (in terms of being a successful musician). I think that's why some people are annoyed..is that she won't stop playing the woe is me card..
