Well, I listened to NBL and some other stuff. I'm not really seeing any originality, she rips off lines from movies constantly, her whole "aesthetic" just seems like recycled material from the edgy sad babygirl tumblrs and the music and production is very amateur. I sort of wanted to like her too, oh well

That's what they want you to think I won't spoil the story, but the series is typically thought of as a "deconstruction" of the magical girl genre because there's so much more to it. I really recommend it!

Have any of you guys seen Madoka? It's probably my favorite anime of all time. I was so floored by how deep and dark the story was underneath the pretty exterior

I rarely ever see Lana fans talk about it which i always thought was weird because it is really creepy I like the song personally, part of what attracted me to Lana initially was an underlying sense of seediness in her work but in that song its nowhere near a subtext lol

I will! I keep seeing her name around for other things besides her music so I keep wanting to get into her discography but the tracks I stumble across never seem to be her best. Should I start with NBL or older material?

I think people got this idea from the witchcraft references on her twitter like the Trump spells but yeah that hardly means "this is the direction my album will go" I do think the original LFL was more "b-movie" like the trailer, she said she was experimenting with horror movie sounds once and we really never got that on the album besides the Carnival of Souls sample
